THE PAST PART 1

Percy looked up at his mentor for such a long time. Today was his last day in training. He was going to be a full-fledged assassin. It was exciting, even for him. He wouldn't have to be a secret anymore. He would get to go on real missions, not just training missions. He would get to fight for the safety of the universe. It was all he had wanted for the last 20 years, since he had been recruited to the Chaos Army.

During the time, it wasn't called the Chaos Army. It was known as the Army of Chaos and Order. It was an army created by the two most powerful beings who created all other beings, the brothers Chaos and Order.

"Do you choose to be called as Percy Jackson or do you have another name in mind?" Order asked.

"Like a pen name?" He asked, uncertainly.

"You could call it that," Order replied.

Percy had never really given much thought to what he'd be known as. All he had thought about to what happened after this was killing murderers and criminals. He wasn't foreign to death and killing. He was actually very experienced in the battle field having lead 2 wars before.

"Shadow," Percy said.

Shadow. It was a good name for an assassin. No one would guess it was him. They'd probably think that he'd go for some like Wave of Hurricane. Yes, Shadow would be great.

"Nice pick," Order commented. "Now do you wish to hide your face from the universe or not?"

"Huh?"

Hide his face? Why would he want to do that? More importantly, how would he do that?

Order sighed as if this was a common occurrence. "You hide your face with a magic hoodie invented by me so no one can see your face and there forth know your identity. Many assassins use it. Personally, I think it's a great idea. Chaos doesn't. Of course, it could be that he didn't think of it first and all that boring stuff. I just think he's just jealous that I'm the smarter brother," Order said thoughtfully.

Percy, now Shadow, grinned. The two brothers never ceased to amaze him with their trillion year old arguments. Since he was Chaos' adoptive son, he was also Order's nephew. And because he was Chaos' son, Order argued that Chaos would show favoritism if he was trained by Chaos so Order ended up training him.

"Sure, I'll take one," Shadow said, smiling.

Shadow pushed open the huge bronze gates to his father's and uncle's throne room to find the two rulers of the universe in a their full fledged bickering mode. No wonder there were no guards at the entrance.

After spending 79 years with the rulers of the universe, you began to warm up to them and learn to ignore there bickering sessions.

This one was different though, you could tell. This one was dangerous and an argument you didn't want to interrupt.

Shadow ignored the risk and went on ahead, never being one to follow the rules and directions.

"Who said what this time to start your petty little fight?" Shadow interrupted.

"Haven't you heard or seen anything about it?" Order looked at him as if was stupid.

"I'm sorry but I was too busy hunting and killing mass murderers and serial killers to spare a look at the newspaper, but I wouldn't mind if you filled me in a little," Shadow said.

"Brat," Order replied but Shadow could the corners of his lips twitching.

"The planet Loung got burned down because someone there accidentally discovered how to make the Secret Flame," his father explained.
