41. Set it Off

*Valerie's POV*

All I can say is that the entire place was absolutely chaotic. I mean, there is a dragon, who is apparently my mother,  chasing my best friend, Jonah, with people frozen! Who would have thought?

The tiring chase continued for another 5 minutes before I stepped in. I know my mother. She can be evil but she would never dare hurt me. Ever.

"Leave my friends alone! This is between you and me, mother" I reminded her.

"The strength of evil is good as none, when stands before four hearts as one. The  strength of evil is good as none, when stands before four hearts as one. The strength of evil is good as none, when stands before four hearts as one!" I repeated a few times.

I stared into my mother's eyes and she did the same. Both our eyes shining green with no sign of love, but hatred for each other. I could feel the tension between us. It that didn't seem to bother me. The only thing on my mind right now was to save my friends. Save the people of Auradon. But most importantly, save Zach.

Out of nowhere, there was a huge wind blowing everywhere, which made me blink my eyes, and gone in a few seconds. I won. I finally won a battle between my mother and I. Everyone had unfreeze at this point of time and I could feel a sense of happiness run all over me. I saved Auradon. I smiled to myself and felt proud of myself.

I couldn't help but think where my mother had gone. She was nowhere to be seen. Huh. I looked down to see a small lizard on the floor and I stood there in surprise.

"What just happened?" Emma asked me.

"I don't know" I replied.

"Did you do it?"

"I don't know" I repeated.

"No, no, no, no. Your mother did. She shrank to the size of the love in her heart. That's why It's so itty-bitty" Fairy Godmother stepped in.

"Is she gonna be like that forever?" I questioned.

"Well, forever is a long time. You learned to love. So can she" I smiled at Fairy Godmother and nodded.

"I believe this belongs to you" I passed the magic wand to her and she nodded and took it from my hand.

"You all have earned yourselves an 'A' in goodness class" Fairy Godmother exclaimed.

My head then slowly turned to Zach who was nervously walking towards me.

"Next time, I rescue you, okay?" Zach said.

"Yeah. Let's not let there be a next time, okay?" My attention got diveryed to Christina and her mom, "I will be right back" I told Zach.

"I love you. But you are on a major time-out" Fairy Godmother told Christina with an angry tone.

"Don't be too hard on Jane. I was the one who put all that crazy stuff in her head. You are beautiful-inside and out. Your mom got that right" I looked towards Christina and assured her.

"I guess I did get pretty lucky in the mother department" Christina joked.

"Yeah, I guess so" I agreed while giggling.

I walked away from Christina and went to see the lizard, AKA my mom. Gotta get used to saying that.

"Hey!" I yelled out noticing a guard placing a glass jar to 'trap' my mom.

"Careful with that! That's my mother" I told the guard and he gently placed the glass jar on her and bowed down to me and I nodded in return.

"Well, let's get this party started!" Jonah yelled as I walked towards him.

We all laughed to our heart's content.

*3rd Person POV*
