19. Love spell

*Valerie's POV*

"Look it's Valerie" A girl screamed as I was walking towards my locker just to put some books in.

I turned to face the girl and noticed a mob of girls standing around my locker. Those weren't just any girls, they were those girls who wanted me to do their hair, just like Christina and Tate.

"Hi, Val! Love my hair, Val!" I smiled at that pretty girl. I think her name is Jenna or something.

"Are you feeling kind of weird about this? I mean, It's not so bad here, you know" Jonah walked towards me.

"Are you insane? Long live evil! You're mean! You're awful! You're bad news! Snap out of it!" I told.

"Thanks, Val. I needed that"

*Zach's POV*

"Do you think they actually paid for those?" Audrey questioned referring to the girls that were surrounding Valerie's locker.

I turned my head towards the girls and couldnt be bothered to answer Audrey's question.

*Valerie's POV*

"Oh, hello. My name's Jonah. You all going to the tourney game tonight?" Jonah interrupted while I was talking to all the girls and their new hairstyle, which by the way looked amazing.

"Yeah" The girls shyly replied.

"Keep a lookout for number eight, all right? Scoring the winning goal"

"Okay" Jenna replied.

*Zach's POV*

"She did it to Jane's hair, too, and Fairy Godmother's not happy about it" Audrey said out of nowhere.

"What's the harm?" I said.

"It's gateway magic! Sure, it starts with the hair. Next thing you know It's the lips and the legs and the clothes and then everybody looks good and then... where will I be?"

Here we go again...

"Listen, Audrey-" She places her finger on my lips and said, "I will see you at the game after my dress-fitting for the coronation, okay?"

"Okay" I said in defeat.

"Bye, Zachy"

"Bye"

I walked towards Valerie to ask her how things have been so far in this new school.

"Hey"

"Hey"

"I just made a batch of cookies. Double chocolate chip, do you want one?" Val asked holding up a whole bag of cookies.

"Oh, I, uh, I've got a big game. I don't eat before a big game. But thank you so, so much. Thank you. Next time. Next time" I said feeling really sorry. I mean sure I wanted them but I don't like to eat  before a game.

"No, yeah. I completely understand. 'Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains'."

"No, no, no"

"No, I'm sure every kid in Auradon knows that"

"No, that's not it. No, no, no, I... I really do..."

"No, I get it. You're cautious. That's smart. Oh, well, more for me, I guess"

Valerie took out a cookie out feom the bag and was about to eat it but before she could even bite into it, I snatched it away fem her hands and took a quick but small bite out of it.

"No, no. Hey... see that? Totally trust you. Totally"

Wow these are really good. I gotta eat more of these. I ate about half of it and somehow I felt a strange feeling inside of me. I stared directly into Valerie's eyes and couldn't help but feel something that I have surely never felt before.

"How are they?" Valerie asked.

"They're good. They're great! They're amazing! They're, uh... I mean, they're chewy and, and you know, they... is that walnuts? I love walnuts. I mean, uh, you know, the... The chocolate... The... the chocolate... The chocolate chips are... I'm sorry. Um... Uh, they're... They're warm and soft. And they're sweet... Val, have you always had those little golden flecks in your eyes?"

Okay...weird. Why the heck did I just say that?

"How you feeling, bro?" Jonah asked from a distance.

"I feel... I feel... I feel like... Like singing your name. Val, Val" Oh my gosh I can't even control what I'm saying right now.

Val took away the cookie from me while Jonah put his hand over my mouth trying to make me shut up.

*Valerie's POV*

"I just made a batch of cookies. Double chocolate chip, do you want one?" I asked holding up a whole bag of cookies.

It's time for the plan. Let's just hope it works.

"No, I get it. You're cautious. That's smart. Oh, well, more for me, I guess" I was just about to eat the cookie when Zach snatched the cookie away feom me and bite into it. Please work...please work. I stared into Zach's eyes during the whole process as that's what it said to do in the spell book. Emma, Corbyn and Jonah all started to come closer towards me and Zach.

"No, no. Hey... see that? Totally trust you. Totally"

"How are they?" I asked.

Okay... weird what happens when you are in love but hey! At least we know that the spell worked.

I took away the cookie from Zach and put it back into the bag.

"How you feeling, bro?" Jonah placed his hand on Zach's shoulder.

"I feel... I feel... I feel like... Like singing your name. Val. Val" Zach screamed. Jonah covered his mouth in order to shut him up!
