*Valerie's POV*

"Mom said, 'If a boy can't see the beauty within", then he's not worth it.' Can you believe it? What world does she live in?" Chris stated.

Currently Christina, Emma and I are in me and Emma's room.

"Auradon" I giggled.

"Val, do you like?" I looked up from my unfinished drawing and noticed Emma holding up a blue dress that she was making in her own.

Emma is one of the most creative girls I know to exist. She can make any scrap materials into beautiful jewellery she likes. She is always so innovative when it comes to fashion. She even makes me things from time to time and I wear them like...every day.

"Yeah. It's cute. It brings out your eyes"

"I know"

"I'll never get a boyfriend" Christina complained.

Gosh.

"Boyfriends are overrated" I said trying to make her feel better.

"And how would you know, Val? You've never had one" Emma said while she was still sewing stuff.

"It's 'cause I don't need one, E. They're a waste of time"

"I forgot to do Jack's homework! Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no" Emma ran towards a brown coloured bag. Must be Jack's.

"And that is exactly what I mean"

I went back to finishing my sketch of fairy godmother's wand when there was a knock on the door. I turned to face the door when an unfamiliar face appeared.

"Hey, guys! I'm Tate. My mom's Mulan? No? Anyways, I love what you've done with Christina's hair. And I know you hate us, and, well, you're evil. But do you think you could do mine?"

Okay...no offence but like what the heck?

"Why would I do that for you?" I snapped.

"I'll pay you 50 dollars" She said holding up a stack of money.

"Good answer. I need to buy more materials. Let's see, I'm thinking, we lose the bangs, maybe some layers and some highlights" Emma butted in as usual.

"Yeah, yeah. I want it cool. Like Valerie's"

"Really?"

"The split ends, too?" Emma stated.

I sighed and took out my spell book since I really wanted the 5o dollars.

" 'Beware, forswear, replace the old with cool hair' "

After a few seconds the effects of the spell could be seen and Tate's hair was no longer short and uneven. Instead they were neatly curled up and jet black, just like Chrsitina's.

We all looked into the mirror and stared at Tate's hair for a while before Emma, as usual, broke the silence.

"I know. I know. It looks like a mop on your head. You know what? Let's cut it off, layer it-"

"No, no, no, no, no, no! I love it"

"You do?" Emma judged.

"It's just..." Tate ripped a bit of her skirt at the side to make her look a little more edgy, "Now I'm cool"

"Like ice" I said.

Just then, Christina walked in front of the mirror and did the same as Tate.

"Oh no! What did I just do? Mom's gonna kill me!" Christina covered her mouth.
