34. Faking it?

*Jessica's POV*

Currently the villians and I are watching the Coronation that those...princesses...ew...go to.

Princesses seriously disgust me. Ugh. Just thinking about them makes me gag.

"At last, here we are, broadcasting live from the coronation where Prince Zachary will soon be crowned king! I'm Snow White, bringing you up to the second coverage of who's the fairest of them all" Snow White reported through the TV.

"'I'm snow white' who are you kidding? She's definitely had work done" Liz comments.

"Oh, Fairy Godmother is looking radiant. But what is happening with Christina's hair? And there is Fairy Godmother's wand"

"I want that wand!" I yelled out.

"Do you? Hadn't heard" Saskia said sarcastically.

"Oh, and here comes Zach now" Snow White said.

*Zach's POV*

"Don't be nervous. All you have to do is sit there and look beautiful. No problem there" I said to Valerie while the both of us were sitting in a grand carriage with thousands of people waving at us.

"Thank you"

"Val, do you mind wearing my ring" I showed her the ring in it's black box.

"Um... not now. I think it would probably just fall right off of me. I have something for you"

"For me?" I said surprised.

"Yeah. It's just for later, you know, when you need strength. Some carbs to keep up your energy" Val held a bag of brownies.

"Always thinking. But I can't wait" I took it out of her hand and bite into the soft brownies.

"No!" Valerie yelled.

"Mm. Mm... Mm! This is really good" I continued to chew the brownie.

"Uh...do you?"

"Val..."

"Do you feel okay?"

"You bet"

*Valerie's POV*

"You bet"

What? How did the spell not work? He is supposed to not be in love with me anymore! I followed the instructions closely!

"Would you say that you're still in... that... that you have very strong feelings for me?" I waited for a reply.

"I'm not sure. I mean, let's give the anti-love potion a few minutes to take effect"

"Yeah...okay"

Wait. Hold up.

"Wait what? You knew?"

"That you spelled me? Yeah. Yeah, I knew"

"I'm- I can explain myself"

"No, look, It's fine. I mean, you had a crush on me. I was with Audrey. You didn't trust that it could happen on its own. Am I right?"

No. What? Where did he get that from? It's better than him knowing about the VKs trying to get the wand.

"Yes. You're so right. So, then, how long have you known?"

"Since our first date. Your spell washed away in the Enchanted Lake"

"So then what? You've just been... Faking it since then?" I asked feeling a little hurt.

"I haven't been faking anything"

Zach held my hand and placed the ring that he got for me on my finger. He kissed my hand and I smiled slightly.
