DEATH'S REALM IN THE COSMOS

Thanos arrives, emerging from wisps of blue. He doesn't have his armor or iron gauntlet on, instead wearing a plain shirt. The mistress of death awaits him.

Death- So, you have come back.

Thanos- Yes.

Death- Without the gauntlet.

Thanos- Yes.

Death- What led you to this?

Thanos- The gauntlet's powers are intoxicating. It took me a while to realize, that it was not I who controls the gauntlet, but the gauntlet who controls me. Power corrupts any mortal.

Death- So you destroyed it?

Thanos- I fought the Avengers fairly, and gave them a chance to fight back for their universe. One in a million was their victory, and yet they achieved it. They didn't bring their droids against me, despite my prowess. They won fair and square, and I let them win.

Thanos-Because I had saw the future. Even when balanced, life eventually ceased to exist. Murder, war, discord, chaos, that's how all of it ends, no matter what I or anyone else did. Even more inevitable than me, was inevitable the death of life.

Thanos- I have played around with the ratio of life too long, Death. I have devoted all my existence to the taking of life. But now, I have abandoned it. I don't deserve the pursuit of life, but of death. Claim me, mistress of death.

Death- This was destined to be, Last of the Titans.

A scythe PIERCES through Thanos' chest! Thanos' expression is of surprised horror. Grim Reaper, death's general, is behind him. Dark energies erupt from the scythe, and Thanos disintegrates into a halo, his expression of peace, as if remembering the Wakandan sunset. He then disappears from existence.

Death- The soul of the last Titan.

Death- The most worthy of my collection.

Death- I shall treasure you for eternity...

Death- ...for death can take away the living, but nothing can take away from the dead.
