WAKANDAN THRONE ROOM

Okoye stands in front of the throne, with the tribal head of Dora Milaje (Wakandan tribe) on her side. The Avengers, barring antman and his team, and Shuri stand assembled in front of her.

Okoye- Americans...

Thor- I beg to differ. I am Asgardian.

Okoye- Foreigners, then. My king wanted to open Wakanda's borders to the world, and didn't want it to stay in hiding any longer. We helped you out, first by treating your wounded, then fighting beside you. 

Dora Milaje Elder- And look what that has brought upon us.

Okoye- I don't wish to say it, but because of this war we lost half of our people, plus those we lost in battle. It would have been a noble and glorious end, but half of us survived. The world demands answers, and you have nothing to offer to Wakanda, and nor Wakanda to you. You are fugitives from your country, and my king wanted to assist you. But this is not your home. Wakanda is still not open to foreigners, and I ask you all to leave.

The Avengers and Shuri are visibly shocked.

Shuri- Okoye, how can you do this? I command you to let them stay here.

Okoye- You have no authority to command me. 

Shuri- I am the rightful heir of the throne.

Okoye- Yes, you are, but the rituals are not complete. You are not in power, and the Dora Milaje is ready to revolt against you should you become the new queen. The Jabari are unwilling to support you as well. M'baku says he has already lost enough men. So, as per custom, I assume command of Wakanda till my king returns, or until you are eligible to ascend the throne.

Shuri- I didn't expect this from you, Okoye.

Okoye- I am doing what is best for Wakanda.

Natasha Romanoff- Till your king returns? He died in front of your eyes...

Okoye- No he didn't. People don't turn into dust. The Black Panther will return.

Rhodes facepalms himself, and Shuri gives him a bad look. 

Steve Rogers- You are right, this is not our home. We don't belong here.

Steve Rogers (cont.)- But would you be able to forgive yourself if you threw away the last shot you have at bringing back half the universe?

Okoye- Do you claim you can bring all the lost citizens of Wakanda back to their home?

Thor- It may be possible. The negative infinity stones, once they are found we can use them to revive all those killed by Thanos' snap.

Tony Stark- And even if we don't save half the universe, we are damn sure we are going to avenge it. 

Natasha Romanoff- Thanos must pay for his crimes.

Okoye seems to think and is reconsidering her decision.

Okoye- I give you a month. If you truly have a plan to fight Earth's enemies, Wakanda will gladly assist you in all ways possible. But should this be a ruse to stay under our protection, know that there will be consequences. Bloody ones.

Steve Rogers- You can count on us, general.

Rocket (whispering to Nebula)- Boy, that woman is scary. 

The entire court disperses. The avengers proceed towards their lab.

Natasha Romanoff- So, what's the plan?

Steve Rogers- We find the negative infinity stones, we track down Thanos, we kill him.

Natasha Romanoff- Classic.

Natasha Romanoff (cont.)- Is this going to work Steve?

Steve Rogers- It better will. Because if it doesn't, I don't know what I will do.
