Today was the day. The day that I was finally going to Hogwarts! September 1st had taken ages to come, but now it was finally here.

"Right Perenelle, I want you to be careful and I'll be very disappointed if you are not sorted into Slytherin because myself and your Father were in that house. Have a good time." Mother nodded once and walked away leaving me between Platforms nine and ten. My Mother had never been an affectionate person so I didn't expect anything different.

As soon as she was out of view I grinned to myself and ran full pelt at the wall between the two Platforms. Obviously I knew how to get on to Platform nine and three quarters because I had read so much about it already. I was totally prepared to go to Hogwarts.

I opened my eyes as soon as I knew that I was through the wall and to my surprise the Platform was already bustling with people even though it was only half past ten. Right in front of me stood a gleaming scarlett steam train with 'Hogwarts Express' written on it's nose. I definitely knew that I was in the right place. I pushed my trolley forward and left my trunk in front of the carriages where the trunks were going to be loaded on, then headed on to the train knowing that I didn't have anyone to wait for. I would just have to sit by myself for the journey. I had never met any other person my age, never mind make any friends.

I sat down in the first empty compartment that I saw and pulled out one of my school books. Just as the hand on the clock hit eleven, the train began to move and the compartment door burst open.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" A loud voice cried. I lowered my book and took in the appearance of the girl stood in the compartment doorway. She was very pretty with blonde curly hair and the brightest of blue eyes.

"That's okay." I smiled politely.

"This sounds so silly, but do you mind if I sit in here because I have no one?" The girl asked, blushing a little.

"It's not silly! Of course you can! I have no friends either." I admitted, shrugging.

"Great! I'll be your friend! I'm Lola, Lola Gregory!" She stuck her hand out.

"Perenelle Holland." I smiled, shaking her hand.

"Perenelle? That's such a long name!" Lola stated.

"I know. I really don't like it." I rolled my eyes at my extremely weird name.

"I think I should give you a name to shorten yours! Hey, what about Elle?!" Lola cried. She was such a bubbly character and that was the first thing that made me smile about Lola.

"Elle? That's really nice." I smiled, nodding. Elle, Elle Holland sounded so much better than Perenelle.

"So...tell me a bit about you Elle." Lola smiled, shuffling in her seat to sit closer to me.

"There's not really much to tell. I'm eleven, this is my first year at Hogwarts. I live somewhere near London with my Mum, Dad and Sister." I shrugged. That small sentence basically summed up my life. I decided not to tell her about Henry at the time.

"Is that it?!" Lola asked.

"Basically. Tell me about you!" I smiled, desperate to get the subject off of me.

"Okay! Well I'm Lola Gregory and I have a brother who's in his fifth year here. I'm also a first year. I live in Brighton with my nan. My parent's died when I was two doing something for the Aurors." Lola grimaced a little when she mentioned her parent's.

"Oh I'm really sorry Lola." I sighed feeling bad for her instantly.

"That's okay, it was a long time ago!" Lola smiled, going back to her bubbly self instantly.

For around another two hours of the journey me and Lola talked like we had known each other for years and slowly got to know more about each other. That's how Lola Gregory quickly became my best friend.

Another hour later, the compartment door flung open and in flew two boys. Myself and Lola quickly moved backwards as the two boys went flying to the floor. It was silent for a minute so I took this chance to look at Lola to see that she was looking at me with the same look if bewilderment that I had on my face.

"Erm....hello?" Lola kicked the boy nearest her.

"Hello love!" He quickly shot up and took a seat beside Lola.

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but who the heck are you?!" Lola cried.

"Fred, Fred Weasley the second! And you are?" He winked at Lola.

"Why should I tell you when you've just come flying into our compartment with your friend?!" Lola crossed her arm's over her chest.

"Oh that's James" He shrugged, kicking the boy nearest me "And to answer your question love, for future reference." He waggled his eyebrows.

"Okay ew, get your friend and get out." Lola warned.

"Fred!! What did you do that for?!" The boy nearest me stood up, holding his head in his hand's.

"Sorry mate, I was going to ask one of these girls if we could sit in here with them but I kind of tripped and we both came flying in here." Fred shuffled around blushing.

"Oh right." The boy who Fred had called James whipped around to face us.

"And as I was saying to your friend, please leave because you've just ruined mine and Elle's conversation." Lola spoke up.

"We're really sorry. It was an accident. There's no where else to sit because my god brother kicked us out of his compartment." James apologised to Lola. She looked between the two boys before sighing loudly and telling them "fine".

"Thank you!! I'm James Potter by the way." James introduced himself to me and Lola.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Lola Gregory." Lola smiled genuinely at James.

"Nice to meet you Lola." James smiled, sitting next to me whilst Fred sat next to Lola across from us.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Perenelle Holland, but please call me Elle. I hate my first name." I muttered.

"Elle, that's a pretty name." James smiled. I blushed a little at this. How the heck could he make me blush?!

"Thank you." I told him after I got over my blushing.

"Are you both first years?" Lola asked.

"Yeah, are you?" James asked.

"Yeah both of us." Lola shrugged.

For the rest of the journey to Hogwarts, we all got to know each other, smiling and laughing and slowly becoming great friends. At this point, I didn't know that I had made friends for life, or of the future that was already planned out for us. I was just happy that I had made friends with people. At this point in our lives, everything was excellent.

I carried on to Hogwarts to get sorted into Gryffindor House, much to my parent's dismay, and I lived through six years at Hogwarts with my three best friends Lola, James and Fred. Suffering heart break, exam stress and everything that a teenage girl should suffer, but now...I'm going to take you to my seventh and final year at Hogwarts.
