The christmas party was a very traumatic for me of course it wasn't as bad as finding out my sister tried to kill herself or that Ashley had a eating disorder, but it's in my top five.
It was sophomore year it was one of those high school party's there was beer and smoke and a lot of drunk people. I came with Emily and Trevor who both ditched me and left me standing alone In a huge place full of people talking drinking and dancing I had to decline like ten guys who wanted to get me a "drink" Yeah I'm not stupid. I didn't expect any of it. I was walking around and sort of bored out of my mind when I bumped into a guy. we had math together. his name was Kyle we started to talk and after a while I got bored. He only talked about football like for like an hour. So I made some excuse about needing to use the restroom and I even waited in line for like an hour. after that I was so bored and tired of girls flirting with guys. I was tried of watching girls giggle. One even ran out spun around and shouted.
"Guys love drunk girls!"
It didn't much make much sense, but it was more entertaining than having a guy talk about football for over an hour I shot a glance at Kyle.
it was the usual party except the fact that every ten feet there were mistletoe and merry Christmas signs and of course eggnog mixed with beer, other than that the usual lots of drunk kids and some were "dancing" in the living room. I stayed clear of that room.
I decided to look for Emily. I couldn't find her. Instead I saw Kent with blond haired beauty Jenny Ferguson. He was dancing with her. they were probly one of the only couple not doing something dirty out there I looked away in disgust.
I then walked down a hall I still was searching for Emily, I wasn't exactly aware of were I was going. The hall was dark and at first I didn't notice the dark figures, but once I did I was horrified. it was like it is in the movies or books there were guys and girls kissing. I ran from the hallway as fast as I could I opened a random door and went in. What was in there was far worse than what was in the hallway there he was.
Trevor.
He was with a girl. She had pretty blond hair, which she used hide rest of her face. she was also not Emily. This girl, She was wearing Trevor's hoodie--The one Emily gave him.
I felt numb at this point I didn't know what to think. So at first I just stood there. then I herd.
"Carmen where have you been girl." She slurred her words. she was drunk she smelled like smoke and something else. I turned to see Emily and her horrified expression.
She was seeing the same thing I was seeing. She can't see this! She'll be so hurt, embarrassed. I remember thinking as I stood there speechless.
Emily was silent at first then I felt heat come off her. literally actual heat. I looked at her face which was dead and cold. She looked like a psychopath. I thought she would engage, but she didn't She turned around and walked away.
"Emily wait!" Trevor called out to her, when she didn't even turn her head he ran after her.
I felt angry I looked at the girl still hiding her face.
I called her a few things im mot proud and then ran in the direction Emily and Trevor. My worry was at a all time high. I searched until I find her curled up in ball on the floor. She was rocking back and fourth. I bent down to talk to her.
"Emily?" I asked
"Go away Carmen," her voice was strand and she was crying, "I'll be okay. I just need time."
"Did Trevor find you." I said venomous.
"Yes," She said.
"Did you too break up?" I asked.
