Sonya's POV~
We soon arrived back in Arcadia, thanks to Claire and her portals. She really had gotten better with her staff. The moment we came through, I stepped aside as Jim was tackled to the floor by his mother with a series of hugs and kisses.
"Mom, I need to breathe." Jim gasped.
Draal shot me a worried look and I patted his shoulder before brushing some hair from my eyes, "We had to tell their parents." I told him.
"Claire!" Ophelia scooped Claire up in a hug, as Javier engulfed the both of them.
Nana held Toby's face and pinched his cheeks, "Toby-pie!" she exclaimed.
Stricklander came over and looked us over, "Ah, Draal, good to see that your mind has returned." he smiled slightly.
Draal growled, "What is he doing here?" he demanded, cocking his fist back.
Jim ran forward, "Easy, Draal, he's . . . a friend." he said softly.
"He did try and kill you." Draal retorted.
"I am here to ensure Young Atlas exceeds." Strickler said.
Draal snarled, but I put a hand on his shoulder, "Relax, Blue, he ain't worth it."
Barbra walked over, "So, you are Draal?" she asked.
Draal nodded, "I am."
"So, he's the one who was living in the basement?" Barbra asked, arching a brow, looking at Jim.
"Him and Sonya." He added sheepishly.
Barbra looked at me and I chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of my neck. Jim then got between his mother and us, "Mom, why don't we let Draal and Sonya have some time off?" he offered.
"Brother?" Dictatious wandered in, "Have you returned?"
"What in Deya's Grace is he doing here?!" Draal roared, "The Impure is one thing, but him? He captured Sonya, and he is a Gumm-Gumm."
I got before Draal and pushed him into the kitchen, "We'll just be going, okay?" I then glanced at Draal, "Let's not bust chops, Horn Head. C'mon." I shoved him out the back, leaving everyone in the house to discuss matters with Merlin.
Draal growled as he folded his arms, "Impure, traitor." he muttered.
I sighed and closed the door behind me. It was still the late night, stars gleaming overhead, I heaved a deep breath before looking up at Draal,
"Wanna go on that date?" I asked, walking over to him.
Draal's expression softened ever so slightly, before he offered his mechanical hand to me, "Sounds like fun." he growled.
I rested my hand in his and Draal led me across the yard and we moved into the woods. Not too far from the house, but far enough where we could have some privacy and not run the risk of being disturbed. Eventually the trees parted revealing a blanket of stars shining overhead.
I stopped, and looked up at the sky, it was gorgeous. A dark velvet blanket, dotted by twinkling diamonds without a single cloud in the sky. A cool breeze swept through the woods, causing my brown hair to rustle a little bit. I looked over to Draal who was staring at me with the stupidest look on his face.
I arched a brow, "Uh, Draal?" I asked.
Draal tensed up before turning away, "Uh, sorry." he cleared his throat.
I then chuckled and flexed my arms a bit, before cocking out my hip, "Like what you see, Horn Head?"
Draal scowled and folded his arms, "Sonya . . ." he muttered, flustered.
I snickered, holding a hand over my mouth, "Sorry, Blue, couldn't resist." I then walked over to him and put my hands to his chest.
Draal looked at me, his fire-like eyes soft as his mechanical hand rested gently on my hip and his good hand brushed some hair from my eyes, but scraped my eye a bit. I yelped and winced, rubbing my eye,
"Ow . . ." I muttered.
"Oh. Sorry." Draal lifted my chin to look at my eye, "Stupid large digits." he muttered, huffing.
I often forgot how much of an adorable klutz Draal could be, which often added to his charm. I smirked and held his hand, "It's ok." I told him.
Draal sighed and leaned close, pressing his forehead to mine, a classic show of affection in the Troll world. I knew he wasn't a fan of kissing, and--if we're being honest--neither was I. Draal closed his eyes, and heaved a deep sigh, his hands on my hips, I smiled softly as my hands rested on his shoulders.
Draal's face then pulled into a smile as he picked me up and held me bride style, and nuzzled my hair affectionately.
I busted out into giggles, "C'mon, Blue, haha!" I giggled.
Draal smirked, "Your laugh has not--Whoa!" He yelped as he tripped and fell back onto his back.
This caused me to fall onto the cool grass beside him, and I held my stomach as I laughed. Draal sat up and rubbed his head before looking down at me,
"Sorry . . . again." he arched a brow.
I brushed the tears from my eyes as I looked at him, "It's fine, Blue." I snickered softly,
Draal leaned over me and caressed my face gently, "Hmm. Well," he arched a brow, "while you are like this . . ." he then laid down beside me and looked up to the stars, "perhaps we should enjoy the view above us."
I snuggled closer to him, "Yeah, it is something else, huh?" I asked, resting my head against his shoulder.
Draal wrapped an arm around me and pulled me to his side, "Sorry again for . . . dropping you I . . . am not very good at this." he said.
I looked up at him, "Like I said, it's ok. I don't mind." I closed my eyes, "Besides, it adds to your adorableness."
"I am not adorable." Draal huffed, as he rubbed my back a bit.
"You so are." I retorted, opening an eye, and sniggering.
Draal rolled his eyes and looked up at the stars, and I looked up with him, "They're gorgeous." I said.
Draal smirked, "Not as gorgeous as you, love." he nuzzled me.
I giggled, "Awe, thank you." I said.
Draal then sat up and pulled me up with him, he then pulled me into his lap and stroked my hair gently, "I love you, Sonya." he said simply.
My expression softened, "Love you, too, Draal."
Draal leaned down and planted his lips to my forehead, in a soft kiss. He cupped my chin then pulled me close. I closed my eyes and pressed my head to his chest, listening to his beating heart.
