Sonya's POV~
Blinky began recalling the tale of the Amulet's creation soon after my shoulder was bandaged and repaired and . . . I had calmed down. Honestly, this was it, I was at my wits end. There was only so much more of this I could take . . .
We had congregated in Jim's room, away from the parents' prying eyes. I had remained in my Loboan form, and stayed like this as I listened to Blinky,
"To find Merlin's Tomb, the Trollhunter must destroy his amulet." he said, "that's-"
"You really think it was Merlin making the amulet?" Jim interrupted, asking Claire who was sitting on Jim's bed beside me.
"I wasn't finished." Blinky snapped, "It's deranged!"
"I saw vague memories in my head left over from Morgana." Claire responded.
I rubbed my chin, "Makes sense. She did posses you, you may have had a moment where your minds shared a two-way link." I reasoned.
Toby stared at the both of us blank, "You two are saying Jim should destroy his Amulet cause you think you saw some old man put a map inside of it?" He asked, skeptically.
"Hey," I held my hands up, "I'm not implying that." I defended.
"It was Merlin." Claire persisted as Jim scooted over to her in his wheelie chair, "The key to finding his tomb, it finding his staff, is inside his Amulet." She poked at the sacred object that Jim held.
"The girl-child may be on to something." Dictatious said, oh right . . . he was still here, "The Amulet and staff are connected."
"Both fueled by the magic of Merlin." Blinky concurred.
"I don't want Jim bashing up his only chance at killing evil incarnate before we're certain!" I barked gruffly.
"I agree with Sonya." Toby raised his hand, "If Jim breaks open his amulet, he can't armor up! And if he can't armor up: "Goobye, Eclipse Blade!" how's he supposed to kill Gunmar?"
"If we don't get to the staff first, none of that will matter anyway." Claire retorted.
"Still, not that I don't trust you, Claire, I just . . ." I sighed, "I don't want us bashing our only hope at saving the world from a vision you saw in the Shadow Realm." I said, before rubbing my wounded shoulder.
"Maybe I don't have to destroy the Amulet," Jim mumbled, gaining our attention, "You said Gunmar has Arrrgh captive?" he asked Dictatious who nodded.
"And Arrrgh can be used as an emotional anchor," I turned to Claire who caught on, too.
"We'd portal-jump right to him." she finished off.
"The plan is set." Jim confirmed, "We save Arrrgh and stop Gunmar by any means nessary before he acquires the staff." he laid it out plain and simple.
Everyone nodded and began filing downstairs, getting ready for the journey, but I grabbed Jim's arm and held him back a moment, "I know this is gonna sound selfish but . . . what about Draal?" I asked, feeling my throat get raw.
Jim gave my hand a comforting pat, "Sonya, if Draal is there, I promise, we will get him." he smiled up at me, "You've been putting on a brave face for weeks, you deserve to smile."
I chuckled and ruffled Jim's hair a bit, "Ah, get on, would'ja?" I teased as we went down the stairs. I then noticed Strickler in the room,
"What in the name of the moon is he doing here?" I asked Barbra.
"Backup." she said simply.
I scoffed before I looked over to see Claire standing before her parents, Javier then held up her backpack, "I can't say we approve of your life choices," he said, "but if you're going to run off, you're going prepared." He held out her pack, "It's got a poncho in there, waterproof matches, a flashlight, chorizo-"
