Sonya's POV~ Two Days Later:

I decided to skip training with Stricklander and Nomura that day, later, I would be glad I did, but right now, I was in the woods. I was scouting, looking for a safe place for the trolls to hide, but I had this sinking feeling in my gut that I was gonna come up empty.

I jumped up into a tree, my claws digging into the bark as I perched on a branch and looked out across the forest, I tipped my nose up to the air and sniffed, my ear flickered before I sighed and lowered my head.

"At this rate, Gunmar's gonna just pick us off one by one." I jumped from the tree and landed in the cool grass.

The afternoon air was warm and pleasant against my brown fur, the emeralds embedded in my pelt reflected the sun's light like a mirror. I knelt down to the soft grass and sniffed it, taking in the scents of the animals that had passed through here recently and the bugs that crawled beneath the sticks and rocks.

I stood up again and resumed my walk between the trees, I had to duck my head most of the time in order to keep it from getting struck by low-hanging bows and limbs.

I lifted a branch from my vision and pinned my ears before sniffing the air. Something wafted to me from the south. I pinned my ears and lowered my head to the grass again, I sniffed the earth before a familiar smell filled my nose.

The scent smelled of iron, earth, and this accent of ash, a very pleasant scent to my nose, and a scent I knew very very well.

"Draal . . .?" I lifted my head a bit, before cocking my head, my tail lashing a bit.

I lifted my head, as my fingers dug into the soft soil, mer ears perked forward as I stalked forward I heard rummaging and growling in the bushes before me. My palms began shaking and quivering, my flanks heaved as I lowered myself to the grass and crept through the bushes.

I poked my muzzle out and I felt my heart lurch painfully in my chest. Draal rummaged through rocks, searching for something. Probably minerals for Gunmar to devour. He rummaged in the shadows, staying safe from the light of the sun. My brows rose before I heaved a breath and stood straight.

"Draal." I said his name in a stern voice.

Draal whirled on me, his glowing eyes casting an ominous shadow on his face. I pinned my ears and walked over to him, watching as he growled viciously. I spoke softly,

"Hey, Horn Head." I held out my hands, trying to show I meant no harm, "Remember me? Puppy?"

Draal tired to run at me, and he reached out, but his good hand struck the sun and he howled in pain, yanking his hand back and snarling at me before he began pacing back and forth. I watched him do this, snarling at me like a dog on a chain.

"Draal . . ." I murmured, "just . . . calm down." I told him.

"Draal can't hear you!" Gunmar's voice came from Draal's throat, "But, by all means . . . try . . ." he had Draal turn to me.

I growled, feeling rage bubble up in my gut, Gunmar was teasing me, torturing me. He knew I loved Draal and he tortured me because of this.  I flexed my hand before snarling, and walking into the shade, Draal sprung at me bringing his mechanical arm down on me. I dodged and backed up.

"Draal, come on, knock it off." I said, dodging the following strikes.

Draal only roared at me, and charged me. This time I didn't dodge, I had a feeling that there was only one way to at least get Draal to fight back inside there.
