27: Meeting the Ancient

Days went by, Taeyeon has to stay more inside their home. It is safe as it is hidden in the forest while the five women goes pn a hunt for food and resources. The queen of vampires was looking over the window, thinking about Yoona and the others, also about Tiffany. She looked up at the sky and remembered the time when she was just a human, she did missed being a human. She missed being a sneaky thief by day and a romantic lover by night. If only she could go back time, she might fix what she had been done...

Sooyeon-ah...

Taeyeon thought while still looking up the sky.

If only you were, things would have gone better.

She sighed before looking at the diamond that Sooyoung should have been given to Tiffany before she could regain her memories. The queen wanted to get back to the city but the hunters might be more dangerous since Jae Bum is now controlling them like puppets, especially Tiffany. Taeyeon have to save Tiffany from his hand, she know Jae Bum is up to something and controls her by words.

Her fist clench when thinking about Jae Bum, that serpent, he was the one who made the people anger her.

Taeyeon took a deep breath to calm herself down, she must not let her anger controlled her.

"Taeyeon."

She turns around and sees Irene whom they thought is going to lock herself in her room forever had finally come out from reading too much books inside her room. She is dressed perfectly like a modern socialite, Joy told her that she is definitely perfect to fit in with the society without noticing her race.

"Oh, I thought you would never get out of your room." Taeyeon greeted with a small smile, Irene only gave the the queen of vampires a slight curve on the corner of her lip.

"Yerim and the others told you about themselves. However, I told them not to tell you about me because they won't understand." Irene said before sitting on the couch.

"They only told me few things about you, you are somewhat a mother to them." She responded before looking back at the window, "But I tried to mother one human but I couldn't even protected her in the end..."

"You are referring to Yerim..."

"I am... and I saw her how she died by his hand." Then she returns her look to Irene.

Irene sighed lowly before putting her cheek against her palm, "I can see the tenacity in her eyes as she dies, so I gave her my blood. In exchange of her new life she must serve me." she said before putting her leg over the other.

"How about the others? Have you turned them too?" Taeyeon asked before looking at her.

The other shakes her head, "No."

"Then... what are their stories? They only told me about the current life they're in."

Irene leaned against the couch and hums, "Joy was once a human, she was bitten by a feral vampire when her parents got killed by a group of them while hunting foods. I was only passing by when she was turned and took care of her afterwards, she lived in a poor society where poor people were ignored. Joy wanted a life where she wanted to be noticed by others."
