32: Family

TWO YEARS LATER...

During her time inside the sanctuary, Taeyeon had grown more and more stronger and aware of her own development. Boa has trained her enough that she could handle herself on her own, the limp and wimpy vampire she knew has gotten strong and more independent as season passed by.

In Winter, they had to control their breathing and her concentration on her body as the blizzard comes to conquer their body as they freeze. Taeyeon had failed many times but she is determined to overcome the freezing and blizzards.

In Spring, Boa and Taeyeon ventured inside the forest where no one returns, failing almost half of their soon-to-be-ancient vampires, during those days Taeyeon suffered confusion and has no unclear purpose of what she is aiming. However, she reminisced the past from where she had met Sooyeon to the passing of Sooyoung, she made clear that her aim is to stop Jae Bum from conquering the humankind and save Tiffany.

In Summer, they ventured in the scorching desert where no one wants to stay still because of the heat it gave to the vampires. Boa already had passed the test and left Taeyeon to stay still under the sun, no matter how hot it was, she managed to meditate and avoid getting burned easily. This was the time she was thinking of every person whose close to her, welcoming her with their warmest embrace which Taeyeon thought that the heat of the sun doesn't matter at all as long as she will going to see her them again.

In Autumn, the final phase of her training, Boa told her that she must create a her own poem. At first, Taeyeon thought it would be easy but Boa added that she must write one by letting go of what's precious to her heart. Was it Sooyeon? Should she let go of Tiffany? Her friends? All of those weren't the ones she let go except one.

Her past.

Her horrible past.

This made Taeyeon wrote her own poem by letting go that one thing that she's holding to. The past where she was the root of Sooyeon's death and Miyoung's revenge. The past haunts her and now she had to make it up to them. Letting go of that past meant that she will change and she must save Tiffany from the hands of those who planned to put her down.

While Taeyeon is still thinking of making her own poem, the gates opened and saw Irene and the others walking in. It has been two years since they last seen each other in a while.

She smiled widely and closed her journal before walking closer to them, "Joohyun! Long time no see!" Taeyeon hugged the ancient vampire before she hugged Yeri.

"It's been two years! I almost thought you're not going to visit me." She told them.

"We have come here to take refuge, I sent a letter to Boa a few days later as Jae Bum's goons are still on the hunt for us." Joohyun told her before looking at Yeri. "While on the run, Seulgi was injured." Yeri told them before looking at the direction of Joy carrying the unconscious Seulgi.

Taeyeon frowned at the sight of it before looking around, "I'll go look for Boa so that she can treat Seulgi's wounds." She told the younger vampire. Just when she turns around, Boa is already there.

"No need, I'm here." Boa greeted with a small smile on her face. "Get her to the quarters, I'll treat her quick." She commanded Joy to follow her as they rush Seulgi to the old quarters. Wendy followed through, leaving Taeyeon, Joohyun and Yeri in the entrance.

"Did you guys followed here?" Taeyeon asked the two and Joohyun shakes her head, "We aren't. Seulgi lured them away but she got shot in the process." the ancient responded before looking at them. "It's better to live here, they won't see us in here." Then she went to the library before Yeri looks back at Taeyeon.
