I smiled as Uraraka led me to the commons room, already blabbering happily. Iida and Midoriya grinned when they saw me, Todoroki waved.
My body felt slightly warmer when I saw them, and I smiled.
"What's that?" Midoriya asked as we approached them. I glanced at the box in my hands, setting it on the table before opening it to show several cupcakes.
Uraraka inhaled. "Wow! They're beautiful!" I smiled and ducked my head, quickly seating myself and gesturing at them and the box.
"For us? You're so considerate!" Iida grinned. They quickly began talking again, nibbling on my cupcakes as they did so. I picked at my own, listening to them. I enjoyed listening to people, so I didn't mind.
"What do you think Emiko? Should we go window shopping or mall shopping tomorrow?"
I held up one finger.
"Told you!"She fist pumped the air, happily celebrating.
"But the mall has food! And its much more common for teenagers such as ourselves to be in the mall!" Iida explained.
I picked my pad out of my purse, writing quickly. "Why do you care what's common?"
"Because shouldn't we be normal? We're going to be heroes! So we should live as normally as we can for as long as we can!" He exclaimed. I wrote some more.
"Why? I used to window shop all the time, its more fun."
"Ha! See? I told you! Plus, you can get good prices on yummy food!"
"You can get good prices." Midoriya agreed.
I nodded. "And more variety."
Todoroki glanced at Iida. "I change my mind, I like their idea."
Iida slumped, but straightened a second later. "Then we'll have as much fun as possible window shopping! Where should we start?"
Midoriya shrugged. "Anywhere is fine. Where do you wanna start Emiko?"
I blinked, startled to realize I was invited on this little shopping trip. "Somewhere in the middle?"
"Yeah! That way we can go one way and loop back around right?" Uraraka beamed as i nodded.
"Very smart! I agree completely!" Iida exclaimed. Todoroki simply nodded. I flashed him a smile before turning my gaze back to my half finished cupcake. "Now that we've got that settled, who's up for a game!" Iida suddenly stood, holding a stack of games.
I glanced around, wondering where he'd gotten them. He began setting one up, and I watched as he played Uraraka, winning easily. He beat Midoriya and Todoroki too, but they both seemed used to it.
"Emiko! Play against me!"
"Yeah! Play him! You might have a chance!" Midoriya and Uraraka cheered.
I shrugged and sat opposite the grinning male. "Alright! Would you like to be red or silver?"
I pointed at the silver, and our game began. It lasted only a few minutes, but I ended it by clicking the button on my main piece, watching as a red beam reflected off the mirrors and landed on the unprotected side of his own piece. I leaned back into my chair, glancing up at the trio staring at the board. Actually, everyone was staring at me.
I quickly averted my gaze, playing with part of my skirt. Midoriya spoke first. "No one's ever beaten him."
Oh. I smiled tentatively, only to be buried in a hug a second later. A squeak flew out of my mouth as i was buried under Uraraka, she cuddled me while squealing.
"That was so cute! No one's ever beat Iida before! It was so cool! How'd you do it?"
I didn't even have the option to respond. My paper and pen were in my purse. When I was eventually freed, I put my hand to my head, stilling the room. While the four argued over what game to play next, I noticed my phone flashing a green button and unlocked it. I read the message and sighed softly, packing up my few things and tapping Todoroki on the shoulder. He was the only one not arguing.
"Yeah?"
I held up my phone and gestured at the door.
"Oh, I'll walk you outside."
"Is Emiko leaving?" We both nodded and the arguing trio wilted. "Wait! How are we supposed to contact you if anything changes!?"
I held up my phone. Iida grinned. "That's a fantastic idea! Now we just need to decide which of us should be in charge of your number. We'll need someone who checks their messages no matter what..." All of their eyes trailed to Todoroki, and I pulled up my phone number to show him. He pulled out his own phone and added me as a contact. I waved to everyone, but somehow ended up being hugged by everyone before they allowed me to leave. Midoriya's hug was sweet, almost brotherly. Iida's was surprisingly soft. Uraraka almost suffocated me. Todoroki was the only one that had my skin feeling warm. Maybe it was his quirk?
What? I'd watched the sports festival.
