I smiled to myself as I walked Emiko home. She was texting her brother, saying she'd pick him up in an hour. I didn't mind, she was still holding my hand as we walked. And besides, she looked cute.
A sense of relief washed over me as we reached her house, accompanied by a wave of nervousness. The date was over, I couldn't mess anything up now. But what if she hadn't enjoyed the date as much as I had? She'd definitely been happy when we joined the others, maybe I should have joined them on the ferris wheel.
I was so lost in my own thoughts I hadn't noticed we'd stopped until Emiko let go of my hand. She instantly had my full attention as she unlocked her front door, turning and showing me her phone when she was done. I read silently and smiled.
"I had a lot of fun too. Thank you for going with me."
She blushed slightly and ducked her head, smiling.
"Have a good night Emiko." I leaned down and kissed her cheek, smiling once more before making my way down her driveway. On the outside, I was calm and pleased. On the inside, I was celebrating like a fool. I'd never thought anyone could change who I was except maybe Midoriya, but I felt absolutely giddy. She'd had fun, she'd held my hand, I hadnt done anything stupid, and I'd kissed her. I'd done everything Kaminari and Kirishima said to, without her pushing me away or being upset.
I opened the door to my dorm a few minutes later, instantly being flocked by everyone, most everyone at least.
"How'd it go?"
"I'm so sorry I interrupted!"
"Did you kiss her?"
"Did she have fun?"
"Calm down guys!"
"Where'd you go?"
"Did she kiss you?"
The questions flowed like a river, and I didn't have time to answer one before three more flooded my ears. I listened to everyone spill their questions as I took off my jacket and hung it up, proceeding with my shoes.
"We went to the fair." I finally spoke, silencing them. "We had fun, I walked her home. Neither of us are upset with you Uraraka, we had fun."
"Did you kiss her?" Kaminairi asked. I was saved from having to answer as the class launched into an argument about whether or not I was the kind of guy who would kiss someone on the first date. I elected to go up to my room and not inform them we'd hung out a lot before today.
I sat on my bed and lay on my back, holding my phone above me and scrolling down. I was doing what I found myself to be doing a lot. Researching. My short lived research was interrupted by Midoriya knocking on my door, and I waved him in.
"So? Did it work out? Did you have fun?"
I smiled. "Yeah. I really did."
"Great! So are you gonna ask her out again?"
I glanced at my phone. "Yes."
Where are you gonna take her? I'll make sure we don't go there and interrupt this time!"
I smiled at him. I found myself smiling a lot. "You were fine Midoriya, I'm not sure where I want to take her though."
He beamed. "Why don't you bring her somewhere you like to go? Im sure she'd love to know more about you!"
I blinked at him. "You think so?"
"Yeah! Why wouldn't she?"
I smiled softly down at my lap. That was a nice thought. Why wouldn't she. "Do you think I should get her something first? Girls like gifts right?"
Midoriya nodded. "I think everyone does, but yeah! She'd probably love a gift!"
