Crazy Love

Chapter Twenty-One

"Ouch!" I said as I fell out of bed. I stumbled to the crib where Nevaeh was crying. "Shhh. It's okay honey. Daddy's here." I said while gently swaying side to side with her in my arms. "Derek?" I heard Tavonda asking for me. "I'm right here baby." I said. "You have Nevaeh?" She asked. "Yep." I said looking at my sweet little girl. "I'll go make breakfast. oh. And you're on diaper duty." Tavonda said with an evil smile. "Aww. Really?" I asked. "Yep. Hahaha. Have fun." She said before leaving the room.

I sighed as I sat in the rocking chair. "You sure do use the bathroom a lot." I said to Nevaeh. She giggled softly as she slowly fell asleep. "Derek. Breakfast is ready. Bring me Nevaeh please." I heard Tavonda say. "I'm coming baby." I said.

"Smells amazing." I said as I felt my stomach grumble. Tavonda took Nevaeh and fed her then put her back in the crib. I watched as she started to wash the dishes. "I'll get the dishes baby. You go rest." I told her. "But-"

"No buts. Go watch t.v. or something. I'll join you in a minute." I said. "Okay. I love you." She said before giving me a light peck on the lips. "I love you too, baby." I said as she went to the living room. "If I stay?" I asked. "You know it." She said.

"Haha. Yep." I said as I put the movie in. We were half way through the movie before I felt Tavonda put her head on my chest. I looked down and saw she was out cold. Her brown hair falling over her face. I tucked the strands behind her ear and kissed her lightly. I listened for Nevaeh and when I didn't hear her crying I found myself falling asleep too.
