Chapter Twenty-five

I rolled over to look at the clock. 8:32. Shit. I got up and threw my hair in a bun and speed-walked to Caterina's room. I yawned and opened the door. She wasn't in there. I smelled something cooking.

I walked to the kitchen and saw the cutest thing I've ever laid eyes on. Derek was casually making eggs and bacon while holding Cat in one arm. Her head was rested on his shoulder as she was sound asleep.

"Morning." He turned a little to look at me and smile. "She okay?" I asked. "Yeah. Nightmare." He said turning back around. "Aww. Poor baby." I said walking towards him. She's been having a lot of nightmares lately. I started to take her so Derek could use both hands and she immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and said, "daddy. I'm scared."

"You're okay honey." He said as he placed his other hand on her back and patted gently. "I'll take it from here." I said stepping towards the food. "Okay. I'll go get her ready for school." Derek said. "Oh. Check on Nevaeh too." I said. he sent a thumbs up my way and I smiled and shook my head. I swear I have three kids not two.

~hey guys. I'm feeling better. I'm not happy enough to crack a smile but I'm not crying so that's a plus. I have a headache from hell but that doesn't matter. I said I wasn't going to even try with the book anymore but. I'm going to. I'll finish this book if it kills me in the process. Bye guys.~
