Chapter Twenty-Two

"Baby."

"Yes? Are you okay?"

"Yeah..I was wondering..." I said with reddish cheeks. "C-can we get Caterina back?" Tavonda looked at me and I saw a spark in her eyes. "Yes. Yes we sure can. I'll call Emma and see if she'll sign the papers." A smile that stretched ear to ear was on my face. I'll finally have all three of my girls. "Okay. That's great." I said.

"Hey Derek?" I heard Tavonda calling for me. "Yeah Baby? I'm upstairs." I said back. "Could you get Nevaeh and take her to the car?" She asked. "Sure." I said.

"We getting Caterina??" I asked eagerly. Tavonda nodded her head and I almost jumped out of the car when we pulled into the drive. "DADDY!!" Caterina screamed as she ran to me. "Cat! I missed you sweetheart." I said with tears in my eyes.

"I hope she wasn't a handful, Emma." Tavonda said. "Oh no no no! She was a dear. She's been so quiet though." Emma said. "Quiet?" I asked. "Yeah. The day tavonda dropped her off she told me her name, age, and what grade she is in and after that if she wanted anything to eat or to watch a movie she'd just point at it or I'd hold something up and she'd nod her head." Emma said.

I put Caterina in the car seat and got in the drivers seat. "Ready to go home guys?" Tavonda asked. "Mommy. Who's this?" Caterina asked looking at Nevaeh. "That's your little sister honey." Tavonda said smiling. "What's her name, mommy?" Caterina asked sweetly. "Nevaeh." She said. "That's a pretty name mommy." Caterina said with a big smile.

•Tavonda's POV•
"What do you guys want for supper?" I asked the kids. (And by kids I mean Derek and Caterina.) they both looked at each other and then at me. In unison the yelled, "PIZZA!!"
"Okay. Okay. Calm down you two. Pizza it is." I said laughing. Derek kissed me and Caterina said, "Ewww. Daddy."
Derek and I laughed as she pretended to gag. "I love you girls." Derek said smiling. "I love you too, Daddy!" Caterina said tugging on his sleeve. "I love you too, Hun." I said as I kissed his cheek. "PIZZA IS READY!! YAY!!" Derek and Caterina yelled as the timer on the oven went off. "Calm down you two it's still hot." I said laughing as Derek went for a piece and burnt his finger.

"Ouch!" He said. "Daddy! Are you okay?" Caterina said. "Yeah. Just hungry." He said laughing. Caterina took his hand and kissed his finger. Derek and I looked at each other and in unison said, "Awwww!"
"Thanks sweetie. It's all better now." Derek said as he fixed her a plate.
