Firash's POV

Firash Maina Dabo. BSc Business Administration and Economics. Stanford University. I stared at my bachelor's degree award on my mum's shelf. She arranged my awards and graduation pictures on her shelf. She wanted it to be the first thing she looked whenever she woke up. My childhood pictures were packed into a small beautiful album.

"Yellow or pink? Which color will look beautiful on my hands?" My sister, Edina flaunted her tiny polished fingers at me. She'd already grown into a beautiful teenager. She is fifteen now and guys were already crushing on her. So beautiful like mum and also a drama queen.

"I thought mum prohibited you from using nail polishes?" I asked her.

"These are waterproof and halal nail polishes. What do you know about girls' stuff anyway?" She rolled her eyes and chewed her bubble gum.

"I know a lot. I had a lot of girlfriends you know."

"How many?" She asked.

"Well. Let's see. I think I've dated nine girls."

"You're such a womanizer! They're just blinded by your so-called beautiful eyes." She rolled her eyes and blew her hands gently.

Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. I shook my head. "Come here." I locked her head between my right arm and rubbed her long silky here. "Stop acting all big. You're still my baby sister."

"Let me go! You're going to smudge my polish. Mummm! Firash is disturbing me again!" She yelled.

"Firassshhh. Let her be, please!" My mum shouted from downstairs, I kissed her forehead and finally let go of her tiny head. She was already as red as a tomato.

"Look. It's already ruined. I hate youu!" She threw a pillow at me but I was quick to dodge it.

"You don't mean that. I love you sistoor." I pulled my tongue at her before leaving the room and went downstairs.

"Allow that little girl to be." My mum said focusing on the red velvet cake she was baking. I ran and hugged her tightly. She rubbed my head gently.

"I love her so much, I can't let her be."

"I know. Aren't you going to work?" She asked.

I released her from the side hug and rubbed my forehead. "Mum, can't your husband give a new employee a break?"

"You're too lazy for my liking. How can you ask for a break?" She checked the timer on the oven.

"Mum, please. Tell dad you checked my health and I was feeling so down."

"And what again?" She eyed me with the side of her eyes.

"Umm. I have fatigue and headache plus I caught a cold yesterday. Mum, please help me!" I held her hands and looked at her with pitiful eyes.

"Those eyes can't deceive me." She tried to pull her hands from my grip but I held them tightly.

"Say yes."

"Okay. Just for two days" she smiled.

"Deal." Muah. I kissed her cheeks.

"Where're you going to?" She asked rubbing her oily hands with a napkin.

"To hang out with my friends. See you later. I love you." I yelled running out of the house.

"I love you more, take care." She said.
