Firash's POVThe sky was blue. No clouds! honestly, if there was a tornado I won't have known. I was angry, sad, disappointed and lost, pacing around the balcony at the highest peak of my penthouse. My fiery eyes could burn hell if I tried and also had a throbbing headache. It's been 2years after Sanem got married. Since then, i haven't heard anything about her or her husband. I buried the memories for good.
My whole family were present at my penthouse, so basically they were here to spend the summer with me ore more likely to stop me from flying to turkey and to also brighten up my messed up mood, well to hell with that now.
They think I'm still lovestruck. Hah! What a joke! I wanted to kick the air or punch the sky, as you could imagine the result would have been as useless as the act so, I sat on the bench and watched the skyscrapers across the Shing mun river.
Later my dad joined me and we had a very satisfying conversation. I was laughing all through almost forgetting my sad thoughts.
"She's beautiful, right?" I heard my dad, said behind me.
"Yeah." I smiled, watching my cousin, Halima play my sister.
"You will marry to Halima, someday."
What!? Did i hear him right?
I suddenly felt like i was being splashed with cold water. I know we had an entanglement with Halima in the past. Like past, past. But thinking my parents already prepared everything amused me.
"Really? Dad...I"
"Ofcourse." Dad tapped my shoulder. "You're a grownup man now. The drama is over. She's a married woman. It's time you get your life together too."
The moment I found out about My arranged marriage with Halima and that my parents arranged it five years ago, I couldn't help myself from being so furious. It was Edina's twenty-first birthday. I don't want to upset her Instead make her day a memorable one. I was absent on her last two birthdays. I was at New York and Hong Kong. Dad was right!!! It's time i get my life together.
Then I had a change of mind, I was tired of putting on a smile for the whole world, I was not fine and for some uncertain reason. It's time to be happy and live my life. You can't get everything you desire in this world and in my case, Sanem.
I took a step backward and turned to him, "I will marry Halima as you wish."
He smiled victoriously. "That is very wise of you."
"But on two conditions." I said his smile died halfway.
"Eiiii. You had to bring that up right? What are they?"
"One. I want a simple wedding. Two. I will be the one to make any decision in my married life. I dont want you or mum's suggestions."
"Accepted." Dad looked at me and shook his head. "I'm glad you've made the right decision. Come down, the party will start soon." He left.
I was in the study room, making phone calls and answering some important emails rightaway. The others, I just left them for my personal assistant, Fin.
Then I joined the guests and my family in the living room. There were about ten of them, mostly girls. And of course, the first person I immediately noticed was Halima.. Who wouldn't? She was looking astonishing in the yellow and black gown she was wearying. She took my breath away for the first time in 10 years. She became more and more beautiful. Her shiny chocolate skin glistened. Still so prim and proper, sophisticated and classy like royalty.
How did i never noticed this?Too bad... just too bad...
I respect my parents decision now, I wouldn't do anything to hurt them more. I've been stubborn enough. If Halima was destined for Me, then so be it.
