"Yes, my sweet, I'm certain this is very important but I don't have time to waste on your little issues," Gabe sighed, sounding genuinely pissed off as he looked towards Goda. The smaller just shrank into himself with a soft nod.
"Now leave me alone, I have work to do," he said, turning back around in his chair.
Goda walked out, head hung. He knew this would only end poorly, but he didn't know what to do. Gabe wouldn't listen, he didn't know where Juan was... this was just awful. Maybe he could just lock himself in his room until he calmed down, that might work. He went to the elevator and started down to the second floor.
He made it to his room and closed the door. As he looked over at the bed, he watched the blood spill off it and onto the floor.
Just breathe, it isn't real...
The red liquid dripped from the ceiling, covering the floor, slowly but surely. Drop by drop it filled the room. For now, he just laid down, trying to ignore the strange, sick feeling he was slowly being filled with. He stared up, but the blood was making this unbearable. He just closed his eyes to get rid of it. He closed his eyes and begged for sleep but he knew it wouldn't come.
The smell of blood just flooded his nose, the drips falling to the floor as the blood dripped. Dripped. Dripped. For what felt like hours. He was alone as the blood hit the floor, and when he looked over the edge of the bed finally, he realized the blood had raised at least an inch.
He heard a knock on the door.
"Wh-Who is it?" he asked, not even looking in that direction.
"Officer Cazado," he heard. It was Juan, thank god.
"C-Come in."Juan pushed open the door, looking over at Goda, "You wanted me to come by?" Goda forced himself to sit up and walk through the blood on the floor with a nod.
It's all fake, it isn't real, there's no blood there...
"Y-Yeah- c-c-can you shut th-the door?" Goda stuttered out, looking up at Juan. As soon as he did, Goda collapsed in his arms, a trembling mess.
"Goda!" Juan held him up, worry flooding him immediately, "What's wrong?"
"B-Blood-" Goda mumbled, "It's- god-"
"Uh- Just breathe, Goda, I've got you," Juan lifted the other up, carrying him back to bed, "It's- OK, OK, what's happening?"
"Th-There's blood... It's- I know it's j-just a hallucination but it's ev-verywhere," Goda mumbled, leaning into Juan's chest.
"Hallucination...," Juan said softly before he realized what must be happening. He held the other just a little closer, "It's OK. I've got you, just breathe. Do you have any medicine for this or...?"
Goda shook his head, so Juan just nodded. Then... they'd have to just let it pass, as far as he knew. He looked down at Goda, running a hand through his hair. "Anything I can do to help?"
"P-Please... j-just... hold me," Goda whimper, hiding his face in the other's uniform. Juan nodded and did just that, feeling somewhat useless as usual. He didn't know how much Goda was being helped by his presence. He didn't know how every word he said calmed the other down, just a little. But the room, in Goda's head, was only filling faster. To the edge of the bed, sloshing up and on to it.Soon enough, Goda's head was overtaken and he just had to force himself to breathe, despite the fact that it felt like he was drowning. He knew it was fake, yes, but that changed nothing when every breath was its own personal agony. He gripped Juan's uniform, taking in big gasps of air when he could muster the strength.
"Goda, you have to breathe, please," Juan said softly, "You're going to make yourself pass out."
However, as another minute ticked by, Goda did just that. He was out cold, but at least he was breathing. Juan frowned, hugging the other to his chest for just a moment before carefully laying him down and pulling the blanket over him.Was this just another way he'd been suffering in silence? Every new revelation pained Juan more than he could put into words.
To get his mind off it, he pulled out his phone and checked the time. Just before two PM, May twelfth. He had... what, eighteen days until the wedding? That wasn't even three weeks, and each second ticked by on the clock was one closer to when both he and Goda were out of time. Just thinking about it hurt his chest.
"Sleep well," Juan kissed Goda's cheek, brushing his fingers over his shoulder before walking out of the room. He took a deep breath as he shut the door and walked away.
