The Perfect Match

Lane

When Lane got home, she was met by her stepdad also known as Dan. Her parents had split like two months ago and her mom had already found someone else.

"Hey Lanes." He said.

"Hey Dan."

"I told you to call me papa bear!" He was stumbling out.

He's drunk, she thought, great... just perfect he never wants her to call him that unless he's drunk. Dan had problems like anger issues and he is an alcoholic.
Her mom came down and put some fish into a pot of water.

"Mom, Dan is drunk." Lane explained.

"Good that means we can get a little horney later." She said winking.
Dan pinched her butt and walked away saying,

"Yeah we can shake the bed, or the couch."

"EWWW!" She said trying not to picture it. Dan laughed and walked down the hall to the basement.

"Mom you're seriously in love with him, what did dad do wrong!?"

Lane's mom looked up hurt in her eyes, making Lane wishing she never asked.

"Sorry mom."

"It's okay, it's not your fault."

Lane walked out of the room to let her mom be alone, What did dad do to make them split? She wondered if her mom would ever tell her and if she would be ready to hear what was coming.
