Andrew woke to a buzzing coming from the corner of his room. He shielded his eyes and walked over to the computer screen that had a envelope on the screen. He moved the mouse over to the message blinking softly. A message popped up from Adam, this is what it said.
' HEY! guys i was just wondering if everyone is still on for the party tonite! ;) can't wait to see all you sexy ladies! ;) and boys don't forget most of the girls are mine.'
Andrew winced at the mine, would that mean Lane was his too? He didn't care if Margie was Adam's. He got up from the screen and walked over to his closet. Today was the day. He picked out a shirt that was tight enough to show off his muscles and midsection. It was a white Under Armour and see through, next he threw on some jeans, and then found his nike sneakers and put them on. He heard bangings coming from downstairs. He walked down the stairs and greeted his dog and mom in the kitchen.
"Hey mom." He grabbed an apple from the bowl on the island.
"Hey honey." She eyed him as he took a bite from the apple.
"No." She shook her head.
"Wait what?"
"No, go change." She pointed at his shirt.
"Mom, what's the big deal? I'm not a girl."
"And if you were I'd be even more mad!"
"Mom," He grunted and went back upstairs. He walked over to his closet and threw a sweatshirt over his shirt. When he came back down his mom smiled at him.
"That's better," She grinned.
"Whatever." He couldn't help but laugh. He got into his navy blue mustang and turned it on.
"Bye mom!" He waved. She waved back without looking up from her newspaper.
He drove out the driveway and instantly got a chirping noise from his cell phone.
'HEY! just going to remind u! U'r gonna have to meet my dad! Can't wait for tonite! ~ Margie'
He shook his head and threw his phone into the back seat, he had completely forgotten. It was too late to cancel on her now. He'd just have to deal with it.
He drove on the winding road and stopped at a stop sign.
"Andrew!"
He turned.
"Anna? Hey!"
"Whatcha doing?" She asked resting a hand on his window.
"Driving to school, you want a ride?"
"Sure!" She didn't even bother to let him finish. She opened the door and climbed in. Her hands went straight to her ponytail to make sure it was perfect.
"So you got a date to Adam's party?" She asked checking her makeup in his mirror.
"Um yeah, you?"
"Yep, who's yours?" She asked turning to him.
"Margie Fisherman." He winced.
She looked at him blankly and then touched his shoulder.
"I'm so sorry. Mine is Rob Haets." She smiled broadly.
"Rob Haets? The guy who's always ditching class?"
"Yep!" She giggled and her hand grazed Andrew's which was on the seat. She acted like she didn't know and just left it there, Andrew couldn't help but stare.
"What are you staring at?" She gave him a seductive smile.
"N-nothing." He asked pushing the gas pedal hard. That's when it hit him he never noticed how Anna's hair shimmered, how the skin around her eyes crinkled when she smiled, how her brown eyes sparkled. He suddenly thought maybe he could live without Lane, maybe, just maybe he could be with Anna.
