One more day. One more day. Lane walked into math class with confidence. One more day till the big party. One more day till She could get drunk and not worry about it. One more day.
"Lane?"
"HUH?!" Lane jumped.
"What's the answer?"
Lane looked at the problem.
"I- I don't know."
"Mhm." Mrs. Cornell went back to the board.
Lane slouched in her seat. She was mad at Mrs. Cornell for making a fool of her.
A note plopped on her desk with her name signed in sloppy letters. She looked around and wondered where it had come from, but everyone's eyes faced forward. She opened it up and written inside was a letter to someone before her with no signature to whom or from. She whispered it to herself.
'I wish I could love you more than anyone else, and I do. I'm sorry I broke your heart, but you broke mine as well. I wish we could still be together, but not as awkward as we once were. I think we are both different people now, but maybe we can give it another shot?'
Lane looked around one last time, but still couldn't figure out who wrote it.
On the back of the note though it said P.S. see you at the party.
Lane could only hope it was one person, Mat.
