This black heart of mine
Once used to be red
Full of love and compassion
Before the cruel world
Tainted it turning
It into stone
That once pumped
For happiness now
Only beats for longing
A place to call home
In this lonely world
Until one day you
Changed my beating
Heart and slowly
Melted my cold heart
Thawing out to reveal
A red heart underneath
All that thick armor
That I had been
Protecting my heart
For so long
That was once
Stone cold
Now a heart pure
Filled with happiness
Love and compassion
To finally reveal
A red heart
Rising from all
The hardships
That life caused
Rising from the
Ashes a new red
Heart begins...
