Chapter 23

Girl on a mission

I walked into the office which was unusually silent. Ae they all decided to get a vacation at same time? Where is everyone? Well as today is my first day back, I might just go easy on all of them and at myself. I don't want to be called the grumpy boss. In walked into my cabin only to find lots and lots of flower. And then suddenly everyone shouted.

"Welcome Back"

I was surprised. All these people were here hiding waiting for me to throw me a welcome party? That's just too good to be believed but still, "Thank you all of you." Each of them congratulated me one after another. And then they left back to their place. Last one left was my very dear secretary Miss Morgan.

She stood far away next right to the window. She was too silent for my liking. "Miss Morgan why are you standing there? Is there anything you wish to convey?" I asked. She gasped looking up. She looked like she was deep in thought. What she could be thinking so hard about? 'Miss Morgan if you don't have any work here, I suggest you let me do my work in peace."

She looked at me with her big blue eyes and suddenly they begin to water. What now? Why is she crying? What I have done now? "Miss Morgan why are you crying?" I asked. "Why do you have to behave so rudely with me? I thought I was your girlfriend. Do you have to be this harsh on me after I had worked so hard to..."?

I heard a knock on the door. "Sir may I come in" I looked at Iris. "Please make yourself presentable Miss Morgan. You can use the washroom in my cabin." She didn't say a word but walked just right inside the washroom. "Come in" I told her. She was Diana from HR. "What is It Diana?" I asked. "I heard what happened Samuel. I was worried about you. I had visited you in the hospital but you were already discharged. So, I brought this for you personally"

She placed cookies in front of me. "Thank you, Diana, you are always kind of my favourite and your cooking is just incredible. Thank you for the cookies. And thank for caring." She nodded and placed a kiss on my cheek. "Don't go and scare us all ever again like that got it?" She asked. "Yes mother." She laughed at that. "Now, don't you overwork yourself." I nodded smiling.

She left after giving me the full report of the employees since I wasn't able to attained the office. After Diana left, she came out of the washroom. Then she placed something on my table walking away. I saw there was a single rose. And the throne had something over it. Dried blood. She was hurt, isn't she? But why she go through all this jut for me. I might just have hurt her.

And if she had saw me with Diana she will just be hurt much more. I have to find her fast before she hurts herself. Even if she didn't, she is already quite angry at me. But she had hurt me when she didn't trust me with herself. Maybe she will learn something. Still she is very right, she is my girlfriend and I made her cry twice in a row. Last night I left her alone on the street. And today I made her cry once again. "I have to know. Where she is." I called my secretary but she didn't pick up. I decided to check up on her personally.

She wasn't in her cabin and why it doesn't surprise me a bit? I called my receptionist and she told me that Miss Morgan had left rather very angrily. She is angry alright. I just have to make sure that she will be happy again and who more than me to be her road to happiness? I have to make sure that she first talks to me, then maybe I can just make hr understand. Maybe I can after all this is all just huge misunderstanding is it not? I have to make her understand what she did wrong.

I know where she could be I have a hunch that she will be in her safe place. Where she feels safe, and calm. I drove towards the hospital she and I met before. I walked in and everyone looked at me with utmost surprise. "It is good to see you healthy and well sir" The senior doctor greeted me. "Are you here for a check-up?" Only if you can check my heart and tell me what is wrong with me.
