Chapter 35

Misery never comes alone

I rushed to the hospital first. I wonder how mu sister might be feeling right now. She was with me all the way. I don t know how I am going to keep up without her by my side. It is because of Iris is by my side I can actually am standing here and not already down; I am holding on to the fact that she hasn't given up on me. I am grateful for that.

I reached towards my sister's cabin. Ezra was pacing all over the corridor. As he saw me his eyes lit up, but still the worry was overshadowing his joy. "You are here Sam; I cannot control her any longer." He told me. "Who?" I asked. "Rosa, she was getting very much excited, the doctors had to sedate her. So she cannot harm herself further."

"I am sorry I wasn't here, I should have been here, I vowed to protect her but I couldn't keep my promise." I told him. "It's wasn't your fault Sam, we all tried hard, even Lucian couldn't keep the track of it. He tried hard to track down the person who took April but so far, nothing seems to be working so far. I am so worried. She just started to wake up and then this happened."

"Wait what you mean by April is missing, you said she was in trouble not MIA. "Iris said. "Is that so? You didn't tell her whole thing?" "I was in hurry of getting back here. And Lucian said he wished to talk to us. There is something very wrong and wished to discuss with al of us." He nodded. "Iris, is everything ok?" I asked looking at her all worried self.

"Yes, everything is alright but I am not very comfortable with you not sharing everything in the first place." "Please don't be mad at me baby, I promise I will not be going lie to you ever again or withhold the information of any kind." I said. "Fine, why don't I see what I can find?" "What can you find?" I asked. "I work her e remember?" She said. How can I forget my woman is resourceful? Perfect for me.

"In that case, take my key card, you can find out many things from my cabin baby. Wait for me there ok, then we will go together." She nodded and kissed me softly. That was a first, I never thought she wasn't in favour of PDA. But again, something is so different about her after she is back from Vegas. I don't know what.

"I will be waiting right here baby, I promise." She said. I wonder what it was about? I looked at Ezra and he nodded. "While she is at it, why don't I see my sister for a bit and then we can go and see Lucian." I slowly entered her room and saw her sleeping. Her face lined with sweat as if she was having a bad dream.

I sat down beside her and slowly rubbed my fingers through her hair. "I am sorry hermana, I am not going to sit here and wait. I will find April. I promise you I will" I said softly. "S...Sam, I tried to protect her. I tried to protect her I promise I did." She was still heavily sedated so I wonder what she means.

"Sam Please save her, they are taking her away. Please." I slowly rubbed my hand over her head until she settled down. "Please sleep tight I will find April for you. Don't worry hermosa." I placed a soft kiss on her forehead. She was again asleep this time peacefully.

I walked out and found out Ezra talking to Damien and Myra, they are here. As Myra saw me she hugged me. "I am sorry Sam, I never ever meant for this to happen." Damien followed the que. "Sorry brother, that it had to happen. I am sure we will find her we need to stay strong." I nodded. "We will stay here meanwhile you and Ezra can go and talk to Lucian. Find out how the progress of everything is."

I drove as Ezra was in no position of driving anywhere or anything. "How did this happen?" I asked him. "It happened so fast. She was just woken up and I got the news of crashing of my recent project of Hawaii, so I got to take a look what might the problem be. I was on my way to airport so that I can check on the site and I told Lucian to stay with Rose till then but then suddenly everything have been gone wrong. My car suddenly stopped in middle of nowhere and my phone wasn't working either. I didn't pay much attention to it, but now when I look, I can see why. It might have been just how they made sure I stayed away from the hospital during which April had went missing." I nodded.

So, it was a very well planned and well executed task. But not after I have been with them. I have to see each and every aspect of the situation in hand. "You alright?" Ezra asked. "Define alright" I said as I parked the car in front of Lucian's office. "I don't know myself" I nodded. At this point nothing seems to be a correct definition of alright.

We walked inside the building and his secretary let us in. "Mr. Night will see you in office." I nodded, I wondered what is going on in his mind. I know Lucian loves my sister, And that Ezra has always resented the fact, still if someone can find April it is him. Only him at this point.

Lucian was looking out of his window lost deep in thought. "Lucian" I called. He turned around and looked at me and Ezra. "You are back how was your trip?" He asked me. "Productive, only if all ended up productive." I said. "I know, you have to cut it short, but it's alright, once we will be done with all this." He said.

I nodded, "Now why you called us here for." "Simple because there is someone in there with you who doesn't wish you well, I have found that out hard way." I gasped. It means he was tricked too like us. "You know who it is?" I asked. "No and that is why I called you here. we will be safe here." He said holding the chair.

Someone knocked the door. "Come in" "Sir the coffees as you requested." Lucian nodded. "You can go now and make sure no one disturb me for next few hours or so alright?" I asked. She nodded. Lucian locked the door. "Now that is all set, why don't we all take a seat?" Lucian asked. We settled down.

"So, as you know all our share prices had gone down, though stock market had been doing good. I have a theory that someone is doing all this on purpose." I shied "Katie called me and told the same. But I still don't know what it is all this about? Why someone want to sabotage us? I mean all three of us? "I asked.

"not just us all of those who are related to us. Right now, Damien's business is also suffering and if it goes downhill just in first phase of his career. I don't know how he is going to get out of this," Lucian Concluded.

"Then we keep him out of this support his best way we can, we keep everyone out of this, Rosa, Myra and Damien, Iris, everyone. We keep them out of it." They both nodded. "First we need to find the source. I know Katie can find it out." I told them.

"Will it not put them in danger?" Ezra asked. "You don't know mine and Katie's relationship, it goes way back then anyone else's in this whole room. I have complete faith in her. I promise she is one tough cookie to crumble." I told them. Just as my phone gone off.

I picked it up and heard Katie shout. "Where are you? You want me to go crazy isn't it?" She shouted. "Katie I am already in NYC and I will be joining you soon. Please don't be mad." I told her. "You better get your ass over here or else..." With that said she cut the call.

"She is something" Ezra said. Lucian looked at me and said "She behaves more as your girlfriend, then as your PA, though I don't know why you put with her." I smiled. "It is as I said, our relationship is something which no one can understand." I told them, "Still, it is not wise to mix the personal life with professional life like this."

"I am not, when it come to Katie, there is no such things as professional and personal. It is just like that; you will understand it Lucian when you will really have someone you can trust you will understand." He made a dissatisfied noise. Only if he had someone who loved him back, then he will understand everything there is to understand.

I walked out of his cabin I have promised someone and I am going to keep it. I walked towards my car and then drove it towards my office building. It had been a while since I have been here. I know it is all in ruins. But still I don't know if I can be able to do anything else. To protect all those, I love by my heart. I want them to be protect at all costs.

I walked in and saw everyone was wayward running around in panic, I wonder what had happened here. I walked in and everyone started to look at me. Again, what had happened here? I asked myself as I made my way towards the elevator.

Finally, I am here now let's see what everyone else have to say towards this little thing anyway. I wonder if I am going to find what I am looking for here. I wonder if I am going to be able to find out who is the culprit behind all this. I wonder if someone can really be able to help me in this situation. Really, I am feeling drained all of a sudden. I hope Katie have some solution,
