One Missing Clue

Katie was very frantic when I reached office. She was running back and forth trying to control the situation in hand. She is after all one efficient girl. She looked at me and her eyes shied in relief so much that she hugged me in middle of the corridor in front of everyone.

"You are back, I cannot tell you how much happy I am feeling right now." She said hugging me tightly. "I am happy too that I am back finally Katie." I hugged her back and yes, I don't care who looked and what anyone thought.

I pulled back and kissed her forehead. The people around me gasped. "Go back to your business people there is nothing for anyone to do right now." I told them. They steer cleared of us. "Now for the meetings, where are they darling?" I asked. "I will be leading the way I suppose?" Katie asked. "Affirmative." "I was afraid you are going to say that."

She laid me towards the conference room. And then as a nice secretary she introduced me to everyone. I shook their hands. My departmental heads were sitting around me. I wonder what is going on here. "Sir, as the current financial condition most of our staff were concern if there would be any salary cut or ..." I know they are concerned about their jobs. But this is my fault so they shouldn't suffer because of it.

"No, there won't be any cuts, you should assure everyone about that. And don't worry keep performing as you are now and there is no need to worry. I will be going to monitor the progress and with all your help we can stand up again. The meeting concludes for today, I like you all to prepare a report on what is wrong in your respective department."

They left and I looked at her. "That was frightening. Now that is over, we can come to real problem in hand. I have to see what you have got, are you sure no one had the information then?" She nodded. "No one had saw it, just us. And the things are not looking very good." She said. "When it does? Katie tell me, I don't know what is going on with my life since I got out of that place, I used to call home. And now even after I have almost everything I needed; I have this strange sinking feeling within me that I am going to lose all of it." I said.

She held my hand tightly. "Please, Sam don't be disheartened," She whispered. "You know Katie, you are the only person who ever have saw the true me, the vulnerable side of me. You know exactly what I am afraid about don't you?" She nodded.

"And I am afraid that shares are been brought by this company, for that it is getting quite profitable, it is bringing down three rulers of the land, King's, Olyphant's and Night's."

Three of us and she is right, this man whoever this is going for all of us. "Have you found out what this man wants from us?" I asked. "Hear this, this company only exist in pen and paper. It is an alias, For something else." "Try and find out what it is. I know Katie I can trust on you." She smiled. "I know just the man to go undercover."

"You are not talking about..." I paused. "I am, trust me he is the man for the work and as usual no one can beat our team. You me and him. We are actually perfect trio." Yes, we are, nothing can ever not be done if we are together." I trust you Katie. But be careful ok love?" I said, "I will be careful I promise." She said.

Be careful I don't want to lose you yet again Katie. You are only part of me that is related to my history, without you I couldn't have been here.

She squeezed my shoulder. "We will find her I promise. David is working on it. I promise April will be home safe and sound." Thank you, Katie, for being this much understanding. I left Katie there as there was another meeting I needed to attained to. The clients were impatient not knowing where there money is actually going.

"You have trusted me, haven't you? Then you should trust this too, you will receive the excellent service you always have from us. There wont be any compromise in quality." "Where are you planning to get the funding from Mr. King? As we all can see that your company or your partners are not doing so well."
