    ~Jaylen's POV~
"Alpha?" a voice came from outside my door,one I identified as belonging to my second in command, Leonardo.

"come in." I said, he came in and I heard the door shut,

"Alpha." he said again, I grunted in response, not looking up from the papers I was currently working on, after a while of not receiving a response, I looked up,

"is there a reason you're here or you just wish to annoy me?" I asked crossly and he chuckled nervously

"can't I check up on a friend? you've been holed up in here for hours, someone would think you had passed away." I looked up at him for a second, and then turned back to my work,

"come on Jay..." Leo whined, I sighed annoyed,

"would you handle the paper work if I left it?....no?... exactly, I thought so too, if you wish to stay here, it'd be in your best interest you sit and be quiet, else get out!" I stated

"you're unbelievable!" Leo groaned, I couldn't help the slight smile at his frustration,

"back at you brother." I replied, he groaned

"with how you treat me, I would've thought somewhere along the line, you had forgotten I was your brother." Leo grumbled begrudgingly, I chuckled at his words.

"I treat everyone this way Leo, don't feel so special." I tidied the files on my desk and looked up at him, when he noticed I was giving him attention, a huge grin broke out, and he rushed from the couch to the seat at the opposite end of my desk, and plopped down on it, I shook my head in amusement as I stood up, getting a drink from the bar and two glasses, he took the bottle from my hand and examined it,

"really Jay!?" he asked, his brows furrowed in annoyance and I smirked,

"what did you expect I'd have here, I don't drink after all, if you wanted alcohol you should have gone to a bar rather than invade my office." he sighed in defeat at my words, pouring us both a drink and I chuckled lightly at his pouty face,

"a full grown man and yet you still act like a kid, second in command of The Blood Shadow Pride, people would be impressed!" I said sarcastically, he glared at me in reply, handing me my drink, I took a sip, patting his head in thanks,

"what the hell Jay!" Leo growled

"what, weren't you the one reminding me of our relationship..I'm trying to be affectionate here baby brother." I replied innocently, Leo gave me a stern look.

"one year, Jay, that's what we have between us, one fucking year, so don't act like you've got some serious stuff on me, cause it sure as hell doesn't count for shit!"

"One year and yet, I'm Rex Leonum and you're second in command, sure it doesn't count for shit?, cause it sure as hell sounds serious to me!" I said teasingly

Leo glared crossly at me and I smirked in amusement at how easily I got to him

"shut up jerk, you know as well as I do that age has never had anything to do with choosing the leaders of the pride, besides if I wanted to be Rex Leonum, I'd have challenged you, there's a reason I challenged the second in command, all these shitty paper work just ain't for me, I'm a warrior, and being your second in command gives me first pick from all the good fights!" he stated proudly, I chuckled nodding in agreement,

"and I couldn't be prouder, little Leo..."

"don't start this shit!" Leo growled at me and I laughed

"okay, okay, chill, but seriously bro, I couldn't have asked for a better second, I swear." I told him honestly.

Leo smiled "no issues big bro, I got you."

I nodded at him and sipped the last of my drink, relaxing back into my chair and simply enjoying his company, but you know what they say, good times never last long,

"I actually did come for a reason though..." Leo said after a while, looking really hesitant,

"speak." I said, shutting my eyes as I relaxed more into the chair,

"well..." he began hesitantly

"Dad and the former Alpha of Crescent Moon finally took action to fix the relationship between the pack and pride."

"Say what?!" I growled lowly, getting up with enough force that sent my chair flying back,

"what did they do?" I asked angrily and Leo sighed,

"Fixed an annual get together, beginning from this year, precisely set to be on saturday, in a weeks time, but seriously Jay don't get worked up over it, just humour dad a bit please, a get together doesn't mean we become friends, we could just drop in for Dad's sake and we'll be out before you know it, you've gotta bend on this one bro, I tried talking him out of it but he's adamant, he won't take no for an answer, I know he said annually but we could just observe it for a year or two and then re-discuss the issue when he's willing to listen." Leo explained,

"those old men!" I grunted, adjusting my seat, and settling back down into it, rubbing my forehead in annoyance,

"so it's a family kind of get together?" I asked him with a sigh,

"uhmm no, it involves all members of the pack and the pride, big hall, ball room kinda setting and all is the plan." he informed me,

"damn it, those shits are expensive to organize, wait who's hosting?" I asked suspiciously, his features morphed into one of guilt,

"hehehehe, funny story there, considering we're larger and more financially efficient, it's us..."he trailed off hesitantly, I closed my eyes, taking deep breaths to calm myself,

"Jay, Jay, man are you okay, chill for a sec." Leo tried reasoning,

"GET OUT"!!! I growled at him and luckily for him, he listened.

     ~Author's Note~
So we meet the leader of the Pride,🦁🦁🦁... Jaylen seems to be quite an interesting character🤔🤔, and we've got some serious brothers bond here🤭🤭 thoughts? , Suggestions?, The comments section is open 😁😁, by the way, I know some of you might be a bit confused but you'll understand it better as the story moves on.

That being said, I'm aware I haven't really introduced the characters but I'll work an introduction in soon enough 😁😁
