"Okay, so what's this emergency you called about?" Taylor asks, sitting on my bed.

"So um, last night Josh slept over because he had a fight with his dad and I was cleaning his bruise and we kinda, almost....kissed." I finally blurt out.

"What?!" Taylor shouts.

"That's not all, I wasn't feeling well this morning so after my mom left for work, him and I agreed to forget about it because he wasn't in his right mind. Then, we were watching a movie and when it was over, he finally broke up with Ashley and started talking about another girl he likes. Then I started talking about Shawn and then we...actually kissed." I ramble on.

"Oh my god, Alexis, this is huge!!" She exclaims, lightly shaking me.

"No, it's not. We're just friends, we didn't know what we were doing." I brush it off.

"Friends don't kiss." She says.

"Exactly. Which I why I'm forgetting the last 48 hours." I huff.

"Josh actually broke up with Ashley?" She asks, raising a skeptical eyebrow.

"Yeah, he did. He sent her a text and everything." I say and she nods.

"So, who's this other girl he likes?" She smirks and I roll my eyes.

"It's not me, if that's what you're thinking. He was talking about Kacey." I shrug.

"Kacey Jacobs?"

"Yeah, you know her?"

"I have her in english and music. She seems like a nice girl but you can tell her smile is as fake as her hair extensions." She says and I scoff, spinning around in my chair.

"You shouldn't judge someone you don't know. Who knows, maybe she has bad days and isn't good at hiding it."

"No, that's not it." Taylor says, snapping out of her thoughts.

"Okay, Tay." I chuckle, twirling my hoodie string.

"So, do you like Joshua?" She asks.

"No, we're friends, nothing more. Friends don't have feelings for one another." I  huff.

"Okay, then imagine not being his friend. Would or do you feeling something for him?"

Maybe.

"Nope." I shrug, picking at my nails.

"Okay, something's up." She sighs.

"What makes you think that?" I ask.

"You always pick at your nails when you're trying to distract yourself." She says.

"Distract myself from who?" I scoff, putting my hand down on my desk.

"Don't play dumb." She chuckles.

"I'm not. Look, bottom line is, we're friends. We only had those moments because we were vulnerable and we weren't in the right head space." I state.

"Okay." She nods and I nod back, licking my dry lips.

"So, what about you and Shawn?" She asks and I grin.

"Well, from what I gathered, he seems nice, even though we only talked for like forty five seconds. He said he'd see me around so maybe I have a class with him too, I don't know. He must be new since I've never seen him at school." I say and he nods.

"And what about Josh and Kacey?" She asks I slightly clench my jaw.

"Josh said she's already rejected him once and he got really....insecure I would say. I mean, she could just be scared." I shrug.

"Joshua Bassett, insecure? Yeah right." She scoffs and I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.

"He's the most popular guy in school. He's a jock, plays football, can sing, dance and has the looks. He can get any girl he wants."

"Good for him." I say, laughing at myself.

"I think you got insecure and horrible lying mixed up."

"Tay, you weren't even there." I explain.

"I know, but I know you. And I know him. I know you guys." She states.

"Look, I'll admit it. When we kissed, I had a fuzzy feeling in the pit of my stomach. But everyone gets those feelings when people kiss." I shrug.

"Ahh! You like him!" She squeals, jogging over to me.

"I didn't say that. I guess I have...mixed feelings. But he doesn't like me back so there's no point." I shrug.

"Are you serious? Like Laura said, he looks like he wants to kiss you half the time!" She says.

"I think you need glasses." I say and we both share a chuckle.

"Oh um, Lucas and I finally got together." She says and my eyes widen.

"Taylor, oh my gosh! I'm so happy for you guys!" I exclaim, hugging her.

"Thanks. Now I just need to come up with a plan to get you and Josh together." She evilly grins and I roll my eyes.

"Josh and I are never getting together, we're just friends. And I don't really trust your plans." I add and she smirks at me.

"You should start to. They're really good." She nods and I shake my head as I crack a grin.

"And why do you say that?"

"Because I'm gonna come up with the perfect plan to get you two to realize your feelings for each other!" She says.

"Oh, no." I whine.

"Oh, yes." She corrects me and I sigh, shaking my head.

"Tell me why I'm friends with you again?" I chuckle.

"Because, I'm loyal and have always been there for you. And, I make really good brownies." She adds and I laugh.

"Yeah, they are really good." I nod and she smirks at me.

"Damn right they are. Alright, I gotta get home. Need to watch my little brother. I'll see you later, okay?" She says and I nod as she heads out, finding her way out to the door.

"God." I groan as I lean my head back, spinning around in my chair.

Don't worry, everything will go back to normal on Monday.
