"So, you guys spent three hours in the library. Alone?!" Taylor gawks as we head to class.

"Yes, and no, we weren't alone. Mrs. Chesterfield was there. And Ashley." I groan.

"Oh no, do I have to beat a bitch up?" She asks.

"No, she didn't do a thing, except have a nasty attitude. And I can take care of myself." I say and she nods as we take our seats.

"So, I'm guessing she ruined your alone with Josh?" She smirks and I roll my eyes.

"No. She was actually right on time. I helped him with his essay and we finished it two and a half hours later. We were about to leave anyway. So for once, the bitch actually showed up at the right time." I say and she chuckles.

"Does Josh even like Ashley?"

"Of course he does. He wouldn't be dating her if he didn't." I state.

"You never know. Maybe he's dating her to make you jealous." She shrugs.

"Tay, we talked about this. He doesn't like me and I don't like him like that." I groan.

"Okay, okay, fine." She says.

"Thank you." I sigh, putting some hair behind my ear.

"Hey guys." A deep voice says and Taylor and I look up.

"Hey Ryan." I grin and Taylor smiles at him.

"How was the play?" I ask.

"It went great! I...think Ethan likes me." Ryan blushes and my eyes widen.

"Oh my gosh, Ry! This is huge! You've had a crush on him like forever!" I gush.

"I know, my stomach feels like it's gonna explode whenever I think about our scene from last night." He huffs.

"What are you waiting for? Make a fucking move!" Taylor says.

"Says the one who's still drooling over Lucas." Ryan snaps back and I gasp, laughing as I put my hand over my mouth.

"That's different." Taylor pouts, crossing her arms.

"Sis, it's exactly the same." Ryan sasses and I laugh.

"Wassup?" Another voice says, taking the seat behind me.

"Wassup, Laura?" I ask as she flips her blonde hair.

"Nothing much, girlfriend is good." She grins.

"Wow, I'm single as fuck." I groan, throwing my head back.

"Not for long." Taylor smirks and I groan again, slamming my head on the desk.

"What does she mean by that?" Ryan asks.

"She still thinks Joshua likes me." I huff, still with my head on the desk.

"Oh I agree one hundred percent. He literally looks like he wants to kiss you half the time." Laura scoffs and I anxiously tap my leg under the table.

"See, I'm not crazy!" Taylor says and I shake my head.

"Yes, you are." I say, mumbling over my crossed hands.

"The only one that's crazy is Josh. Crazy for you." Laura says and I hear Ryan laugh.

"Guys, did you not know he has a girlfriend?" I say, finally lifting my head up.

"News flash, Ashley is the local cunt of this school." Laura states and I purse my lips, looking around the room.

"Then I guess she's not a cunt to Josh." I shrug, flipping through my notebook.

"And you know that?" Ryan asks, raising an eyebrow and I purse my lips.

"I mean, if she was, Josh wouldn't be with her." Taylor points out.

"Look, can we stop talking about my friend's bitch of a girlfriend?" I groan, slouching in my chair as I throw my head back.

"Hey." A chirpy voice says and I lift my head up and meet the dreamy brown eyes of Joshua.

I quickly fix my posture and flip my hair.

"Hi, curly fry." I grin and he chuckles.

"Thanks again for helping me with the essay." He nods.

"No problem. Are you handing it in early or when you actually have Ms. Baker?" I ask.

"I already handed it in before her class started."

"Is she taking off any points?"

"Nah, she said I was a good kid so she decided against it." He shrugs.

"Lucky ass. If I even dared to hand in her assignment a day late, she'd take off a full five points." I say and he scoffs.

"You kidding me? You'd never do that, you're way too smart and organized." He chuckles, sitting next to me.

Taylor sends me a smirk and Ryan and Laura wink at me and I quickly roll my eyes before I face Josh again.

"So how's your morning so far?" He breathes with a grin.

"It's fine. Are you and your dad okay?" I ask.

"Uh, we had another fight when I came home yesterday." He mumbles close to me.

"Shit, Josh. I'm sorry, just ignore him. Provoking him will only make it worse." I whisper as Ms. Miller starts to talk.

"Don't you think I've tried? He makes me so angry." He says, shaking his head.

"Look, you can come over anytime. Just please, don't get violent." I plead.

"No promises." He sighs and I frown at him.

"Don't be sad. You're the best part of my day." He grins, rubbing my arm and my cheeks start to feel weird.

I quickly contain myself and see Taylor, Laura and Ryan already talking amongst each other.

"I thought Ashley was." I shrug.

"There's a difference. You aren't on my dick 24/7, Ashely is." He says and I laugh.

"That's no way to talk about your girlfriend, Mr. Bassett." I fake gasp and he laughs, shaking his head.

"Some girlfriend." He rolls his eyes.

"Let me guess, she's being clingy again?"

"Yeah, I just don't know what to do. She gives me headaches all the time and we fight over the stupidest things." He groans, running his fingers through his hair.

"If she's really stressing you out, maybe take a break?" I suggest.

"You kidding me? She'll kill me in my sleep if I even dare suggest that we take a break." He huffs.

"Just be nice to her, like you always are, and maybe she'll back off."

"I'll give it a shot. You always give the best advice." He grins.

"I try." I shrug.

"And uh, I meant what I said. You really are the best part of my day." He smirks and I grin at him, my cheeks feeling weird once again.

Seriously, what the hell is going on with me?
