(A/N: Suggestive, and the italics mean flashback)
The sun slowly peeked through the old, ragged curtains of your small cottage, that was placed near the edge of the village, so close to the woods. You groggily got up, so tired from working too hard. You opened the windows, pushing away the curtains, and took a deep breath of the luscious air that was provided to you. The clouds were slowly dancing with the still sun, and the flowers swayed graciously. Everything was beautiful that day, and you smiled. You rubbed your eyes, walking over to the kitchen, to find nothing in the cabinets. You groaned, realizing you were going to have to walk to the market square, and you were already short on money.
The trip to the market square was a painful yet sweet, due to the fact that you had no shoes, but mother nature gave you company. Some of the children were grinning happily as they played, and you sighed, content. Today was going to be a wondrous day, you could feel it in your heart. Suddenly, a royal carriage, elegantly adorned with gold and silver, a decorative symbol on each of its sides, pulled up in front of you. A small man appeared out of there, and cleared his throat before announcing,
"Hear ye! Hear ye! Prince Charming is set to marry a beautiful princess by the name of Cinderella!" The crowd of villagers surrounding the carriage immediately began chattering, all excited and surprised by the news. All except for you. Your heart dropped and now you felt lonely. You walked out of the crowd, your eyes fixed onto the carriage, before running off. You had no idea where you were going, but you wanted to leave,
"Oh dear! Watch it!" cried a man, but you ignored him, your feet carrying you for about 10 minutes before giving out. Collapsing onto the ground, you realized you ran off into the woods, and you feared you were lost. You sighed, adjusting you sitting position, before looking up at the sky, which was blocked by the tall trees that seemed to engulf you into its shadow.
"Leaving already?" The Prince asked.
"I have work to tend to..." You replied, casually slipping into your undergarments. He stared at you, before chuckling,
"I really am enjoying this view..." He replied, and you blushed, giggling like a little girl.
"You have to go back to the castle, your parents might wonder where you went." You said, slipping on your dress. You wiped the sweat on your forehead off you, as he nodded, his gaze not breaking from you,
"True, being with a peasant like you will cause me great trouble." He said, and you glared at him. He got up as well, dressing himself before moving over to you.
"Is this love?" He asked, placing a hand underneath your chin, to draw your face up.
"The more right question is, is this true love?" You asked, whispering to him. He went in for another kiss, before pulling away and turning to the small window and looking at the hills that rolled merrily.
"I must leave you, but I shall never forget you. I don't think I've ever enjoyed myself like this with any other women but you." He said, and he ran out the door, grabbing his horse. You furrowed your brows, hurt that he didn't respond to your question. Then again, he was a prince and you were nothing more than a mere peasant. Fallen into his trap, you couldn't escape it, and you became more and more desperate for him. The way he made you feel last night, as you screamed his name in ecstasy , as he stared at you lovingly with those eyes.
"It wasn't true love, then." You whispered to yourself, and the tears began to spill. The wretched, beautiful prince had destroyed you. You had no one in the world, and you thought he would be there for you. The lies that you made to comfort yourself. The dreams you had of him. The days you waited for him to return!
After a couple minutes of pouring your soul out into the tears, you took a shaky, deep breath in. Then it hit you, you were stuck in the woods, and you had no idea how to get back home. You took a few steps away from the tree which you laid on, before you turned around to meet an old hag.
"Who are you?" You asked, wiping away the remains of your tears. She looked at you, before smiling,
"Someone that can make your dreams come true... I can help you, but you must find a couple items... then I shall answer the question you longed an answer for." She replied, and you tilted your head,
"Was it really true love?" She asked you.
