(Shoutout to enterpriseleonowens for helping me out with this idea!!!)
"Great Expectations, Tom Sawyer, Oliver Twist..." Your best friend rambled on, grabbing books with excitement. You couldn't help but roll your eyes,
"Are we done?" You asked, feeling yourself becoming more bored as the minutes passed. You friend grumbled in reply, but managed to pull off a smile,
"(Y/N), why don't you find a book for your own enjoyment, and then come back to me, alright? Alright." She said, storming off, and you sighed, walking endlessly through the aisles. You skipped past nonfiction and history, jumped away from historic fiction and comics, and danced towards the movies, humming a small tune. You aimlessly skimmed through the collection of DVDs, rejecting the oldie ones and musicals. Something interesting, something that made you feel excited.
Nothing.
There was nothing here.
You groaned, looking up to find anything at all, when your eyes locked on to a Star Trek book.
"Wow." You murmured, dashing over to see it. It was amazing, talking about the stuff the actors experienced on set and describing the characters. You grinned vivaciously, and right as you were about to skip on over to your friend, you saw Chris Pine.
Chris Pine was 2 feet away from you. The man was standing there, and now you were gasping for air since you didn't breathe for 2 minutes straight.
"You idiot," You mumbled to yourself, "get it together."
He flipped a page of a book, looking intrigued with the contents on the page. You have to get his attention, you thought. You slightly tossed the Star Trek book on the ground, and said out aloud, "Oops," and went to grab it but he simply ignored you and walked away.
"Darn it." You growled, and picked up the book. You weren't giving up, no way. You were such a fan,
"I will do anything to get him to notice me." You said to yourself, and with your head held high, you marched over to Chris. He flipped a page, staring intently at the book's contents, once again. You gulped, taking a deep breath in and squatted down a bit to see the book title, "The Count of Monte Cristo."
Wow, another dork... wait no! That's Chris Pine you can't think like that!
"That's a... nice book you got there." You tried your best to sound casual. Chris looked up at you and smiled,
"I thought so too."
"It's got an interesting story to it." You replied and he grinned this time, while a growing fear crept in on you that made you wonder if he knew you were bluffing.
"I didn't really get the plot, mind explaining it to me?" He asked, and you were about to faint.
"Such an idiot..." You muttered to yourself and you smiled back at him.
"Uh... a guy going out for revenge when he was wrongfully prisoned." You stated, leaning up against a shelf. He furrowed his brows, before closing the book and walking off. You gasped,
"You're just gonna leave?" You asked, and he smiled, once again. Gosh, you were so in love with that smile!
"My apologies, miss. Perhaps it would be better if I left with you, out for a cup of coffee? I would so love to learn more about the book and maybe you." He grinned sheepishly. You fell down onto the ground once he finished the sentence, but stood up quickly, regaining your composure.
"Why not?" You asked, before quickly grabbing out your phone to text your best friend,
I got a date with Chris Pine! Gosh, I'm coming to this bookstore more frequently now...
