The Tape
Daniel JacksonI was just recently let out of the hospital earlier today, I called the Spies but nobody answered, guess they were out on a mission or something. So, I decided to walk home, my wounds haven't only healed, but thanks to a little boost from my wind core I helped clean out the wounds and make it so I'm not held down by stitches either.
Honestly the city breeze was pleasant for a nice walk home. People on the street seemed happy, a few of them even recognized me. It felt good to finally be a nice friendly face around the city instead of known as that "Street Fighter Leader"
I was curious as to how the Street Fighters were holding up since I divided them, I gave them the option to hold up in the same location as when I was in charge, many of them didn't have homes to go to otherwise so many weren't so keen on the idea of me leaving and joining a super hero team to defend the city.
Still, something about the Spies just felt like home to me, maybe we can be the change that will finally clean up the city. The corrupt higher ups, after learning what they did to John, its changed my entire perspective on how Guardpost operates, the fact that they just let Arnold Kenway do the things that he did and how they hired him into the position to pull something like that is insane. We are the ones who could be the change, we have the people's side now, so who knows.
I made my way into the market, it was mid afternoon so it was actually quite busy when suddenly I heard a gunshot. Everyone ducked down except for two men across the market, both wore rags over their faces and held pistols demanding to a shopkeeper to put goods and money into a bag.
I turned myself into thin air and picked myself up off the ground and threw myself straight for the two thief's, raising a fist to punch one of them in the face as I landed.
Right as I about to land on the ground I turned solid again and slammed my fist right against the first guards face. I turned to the second who saw that I landed on his friend. He pointed his gun in my direction and fired, but I raised a hand and used the force of the wind to throw the bullet away and sending it rolling to the ground.
I smirked at the thief, he looked shocked under that mask.
I grabbed the air behind him with my core and pushed him closer to me grabbing him by the shirt and punching him in the face hard, enough to knock him out in just the one punch.
I dropped the thief and looked back at the first one, he was still out cold. The civilians started cheering and clapping and I just smiled, I grabbed the backpack from the thief that was full of goods and money, I tossed it back to the smiling shopkeeper.
"Thank you" The man smiled.
"Don't worry about it, it's what anyone would do it they'd had what I have" I smiled back.
The people continued on their day and continued shopping, about a minute later, two Guardpost soldiers arrived in a flying vehicle, they arrested the two thieves and cuffed them, lifting them up off the ground while reading them their rights.
"Your'll get what you deserve Jackson!" One of the thieves shouted to me being dragged away by the Guardpost soldiers. It wasn't until after I saw the vehicle fly away that I realized who the thief was. He was one of the old Street Fighters, Jesus, lack of a home and food must've turned him to stealing just to survive.
Dammit.
"Sir?" A male voice spoke from nearby, not a moment after someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to see a tall, thin man wearing a hoodie over a lab coat. This was the man who spoke and tapped me on the shoulder.
