The Nevermore Situation
John KenwayTyler landed the ship just outside of Nevermore's border, after landing he cloaked the ship and we all headed into the woods. On the flight here I got a radio call from Jack, he filled us in on what happened with him and Izzy. Their fight to Echo, Celine Turner's death and also Shadow's return and stealing the crystal, most importantly he also told us about the Street Fighter's involvement with the Mutant Clan.
"This is bad" Daniel spoke as we all walked towards the Nevermore border. Ace and Sam a while ahead of us, Tyler, Andrew, Daniel and I walked side by side. "The Street Fighters have control of the City's entire underworld network"
"Underworld network? Jesus what were you running the mob?" Tyler asked surprised.
Daniel smiled. "No, but the system acted like a well oiled machine"
Tyler shook his head in disbelief from that comment, Daniel continued.
"The entire network was split into five sections, although we usually didn't fight between each other it did happen. Mainly we just committed small crimes like stealing food to provide for the homeless."
Andrew who walked next to us was constantly lighting his fingers on fire and putting them out, just clicked into the conversation.
"I thought it was the street fighters? Not the Robin Hoods?" Andrew remarked, causing only a smile from Tyler.
"Well, sure we caused large fights and we kept other upcoming gangs from taking over our turf, but as I said we had to split up our group into sections because of all our differences. If someone managed to unite the groups of Street Fighters we could have a real issue on our hands"
Tyler shrugged. "No offense, but these are a bunch of common street thugs, I'm still more worried about the Sorcerers, Giants and Ogres that Echo has at his disposal"
Daniel nodded. "Yes Tyler, but don't forget, the Street Fighters have the side of many of the low lifes in the City, something that we and the Guardpost Military are lacking"
"Yeah" I agreed. "We need to treat the Street Fighters as a threat, same as any of the other clans. But I would assume the Street Fighters wouldn't just fall in line behind Echo?" I asked looking over at Daniel.
Daniel nodded. "Yeah, Echo did burn down the entire Sorcerer Village to get them to join but to unite the clans it would've required a promise of some kind, maybe territory? Same as what Echo promised that freak with scars? If that's the case and they made some sort of deal that it's likely that they are following a inside man, like hell they'd agreed to a deal to a outsider"
"Can you think of anyone?" I asked.
Daniel shook his head. "There's a few names but- No, I can't think of anyone off the top of my head"
"Alright, well if you can think of anyone let me know, we'll need to locate their leader as soon as we can" I answered just as we entered the woods. Instantly a group of armored guards appeared out from behind trees, bushes or shrubs. All of them having either spears or bow and arrows pointed in our direction.
None of us even flinched.
"Guys, lower the sticks" Tyler sarcastically commented.
"We need to enter Nevermore" Sam started, standing ahead of the rest of us.
"I'm sorry Ms. Moon but Thalia has restricted all access from Spies" One of the male guards spoke sternly, still holding his spear up in the direction of Daniel.
"Was it Thalia? Or was it Echo getting into her head?" Sam asked threatening, she was rightfully pissed. None of the guards answered, some just shifted eye contact momentarily to suggest that yeah, Nevermore has joined Echo.
