The Betrayal
Jack Turner

Andrew and Daniel returned from visiting Jayce and gave us all the information that we needed. Tyler was charting a course and loading a map of the Shaded Castle based off of the data Jayce gave us.

"Where's Tim?" Andrew asked looking around the lab. The rest of us were here, Sam was sharpening a double sided tomahawk in preparation. While most of the others were loading up on armour.

"Tim is locking down the City with his men, while we're out we need to make sure Echo doesn't try anything" I answered.

Andrew nodded. "Look" he started, more of a whisper so that only I could hear.

"Jack you should know, its Daniel's old friend Traven who is running the Street Fighters"

I nodded. "So, you think, what?"

Andrew shrugged. "I think that you should just talk to him is all. If we knew who the leader of the Street Fighters were we might've been approaching this differently, it's valuable information that he shouldn't have with held from us. I trust Daniel as much as any of you, but someone needs to remind him what team he is fighting for here you know?" Andrew asked.

I nodded. "I'll make sure to speak to him before we head out"

"Uh? Jack!" I heard Izzy shout. I looked over and instantly saw what she was looking at. At the doorway to the Lab, was a portal.

I drew my flaming sword and positioned myself across the Lab from the portal, the others all stood beside me, even Tyler, who raised a energy pistol and was wearing high tech battle armour.

Stepping through the portal, was Echo himself. He took a few steps towards us, then stopped, wordless as more people stepped out of the portal behind him. Dark Star, Stitches and a street fighter who I assumed was Traven joined him. Right behind them was a short, glasses wearing, what can best be described as a bookworm. I recognized his clothing from the Sorcerer Village.

"Hello everyone" Echo spoke, Dark Star and Stitches were both heavily armored and looked ready for a fight. They stood on either side of Echo, almost acting as his body guards.

I glanced over at the others, they all stood their ground, most of them charging their cores waiting for my word to strike and murder these idiots.  Sam especially I could see was doing all in her power not to jump them.

"You have a lot of balls coming here like this" I grumbled. "After what you did to John"

Echo smirked. "I can assure you that John is alive, injured, but still sucking in air"

This caught me off guard, why would he spare his life? Or was this another one of Echo's twisted games to try and lower our guards in thinking that John was alive?

"Proof?" I asked.

Echo smirked and shook his head a little. "No Mr. Turner, you can't try to trick me into that. I know it probably doesn't mean much but I can promise you that John is alive, and will continue to be until I have shown him the truth"

"And what truth is that?" I asked.

"That he was wrong defend this City, that it's twisted and sick. But I also want to show him that this team of his, the thing he believes in more then anything else is falling apart. I know you've been, what's the best word? Ivan?" Echo asked looking over at the bookworm who I assumed was named Ivan.

"Stressed Sir" Ivan responded quickly, looking directly at Andrew as he spoke, Andrew was glowing a faint golden energy.

"Stressed, yeah, After all, I killed Thalia, and have managed to gather so much of the Dome against you and this City. Granted some of them I did convince using more, aggressive methods. But for the most part these Villages just handed me their resources and man power on a silver platter because they agree with me. Your efforts are a lost cause Spies, the majority has spoken and they want to see the leaders here burn on the stake! Sorry Princess" Echo spoke glaring over at Izzy.
