Evelyn had completely forgotten her whole reason for talking to Colton that night. She gotten swept up in his embrace, and his kiss, and her true wants and desires to be with him. He had slipped his hands behind her back and pulled her against him. His face was smooth from just being shaved, and his breath smelled of whiskey. His strong arms around her, she had never felt more safe. He was irresistible. It was only when he started kissing her neck that she started realizing what was happening, and how this was never suppose to happen.

"Colton,"

"Hmm?" He growled

"We have to stop." She said, even though everything in her was screaming to keep going.

She felt him take a deep breath, and then he slowly brought his face up to look at hers.

"You're right, I'm sorry I got carried away." He said, still keeping his body next to hers.

"It's alright." giving him a slight smile. It was them Colton noticed the fear in her eyes, the kind of fear that she had messed up. He also noticed one tear rolling down her cheek.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" He asked, wiping the tear away with his hand and then kissing her cheek where the tear had been.

"I'm so sorry, this should have never happened." she said, not being able to look at him.

"Why not?" He asked cooly.

"Because I told you, we can only be friends."

"Yes, you did, but your kiss said something else."

"What? No it didn't!" Even though she knew he was right.

"Evelyn, if you had really been mad at me for that kiss you would have punched me or shot me, and you did neither, actually, you did quite the opposite." he said, and came in closer to kiss her again, but she stopped him by putting her hands on his chest and pushing against him, but once again was entranced by his body, and the muscles that were behind her hands. oh gosh she thought, why is he so irresistible? I've got to get out of here.

"I-I have to go!" She said, trying to untangle herself from Colton's arms.

"What?"

"I have to go, will you please release me?"

"No, I'm not letting you go until you tell me what's goin on in that head of yours." he said, tightening his grip on her.

"You really want to know?"

"After everything that just happened, i think it would be helpful."

"I'm tired." she said, and then realized how silly, and untruthful that sounded. Oh gosh she thought, How am I going to get out of this?

"You're tired?" He repeated

"Yes"

"Alright, well then, can you tell me real quick what you're thinking about us?"

"I don't really think anything about us, and think that we should still only be friends. Okay? Goodnight." She said quickly trying wriggle herself out again. But this time his grip loosenend and she was able to get free.

"Okay Evelyn, we'll just be friends." He said. The look of confusion, and rejection, made Evelyn's heart feel like it was being ripped in two and made hard for her to breath. This is for the best, this is the best for him, she repeatedly told herself. She leaned back agaisnt the wall, because she didn't trust her own legs to keep her standing. One side of her to yelling at her to get out, you did what meant to now get out! While the other part of her ached to stay to apologize for what she was making him go through. She wished so bad right now, that Mason had never been part of her adult life, that he would have only ever been a good childhood friend and that been it. Why did she have to be so stupid? All she wanted was to be in Colton's arms, and forget that she had ever been a person that everyone else looked down on. She never once in her life wanted to be a sophiticated lady until now, for Colton, because that's what he deserved, someone who was pretty, and proper, that he could take care of and not she ashamed of, someone that society looked up to. She finally found the strength in her legs and walked towards the door.

"I'm not giving up on you." Colton said, as she opened the door.

"What?" she froze.

"I'm not giving up on you. No matter how hard you fight this, I'm always going to be right here."

"Please, Colton, please just give up, this, we are never going to happen."

"Why? Why do you want me so badly to give up? I know you want me, and I want you too, and if Mason isn't the reason you are holding back anymore then what is it?"

"Colton please, you don't want me, you think you do now, but you don't, not really." She said, trying to keep herself together, but could feel herself starting to lose control.

"Why don't you think that I want you?" He said walking over to her, and grabbing her hands.

"Because, you don't understand what you'll be getting yourself into. I'm not worth it."

"Maybe I don't understand, because I think I know what I'm getting myself into, and I do think that you are worth it." he held her face in his hands, and the control she had was now brimming over and falling on her cheeks. She tried to look away from those eyes, but he wouldn't let her.

"Oh no you don't, I know you can't lie if you're looking me in the eye, and I need to know something." he said, wiping away each tear that came.
"I know I want you, but I need to know for sure, that you want me, whether you think we should be together or not. Evelyn, do you want me?"
