𝗌𝗓𝖺𖩩 : once the girls had met with their male classmates, a tired man's voice was heard from the front of the room. "I'm from the uh—Heroes Public Safety Commission, name's Mera, my.." Mera fought to keep his sleep deprived eyes open, his speech toning down to a grumble.
"Looks like Mr. Aizawa's got competition in sleep deprivation," Y/n commented as Izuku gave a nod next to her. Mera took a brief moment to compose himself before he continued, "So—about the concept of this whole license thing, basically one thousand - five hundred and forty examinees compete in a free for all exercise, or whatever we're calling it this year."
'Very vague,' Y/n thought as she looked at the man on stage. "See, we've got a lot of Pros around. And since Stain was arrested people are having doubts about the heroes in our society. But, when you really think about it, getting paid makes sense if you're going to risk your life to save someone— why shouldn't you ask for a reward in return?"
The healer furrowed her brows at the man's question, 'Lives are lives, money is money. But one will always out weigh the other in the mind of heroes.' Heroes choose to save people, expecting nothing in return of what they were meant to do.
"That's just the way the world works—- god I can use a coffee. Anyway, whether they're in it for compensation or a sense of duty, we've got too many heroes working in the streets these days to keep villains at bay."
"Honestly the time between when an incident begins and when it's resolved is ridiculously short, each one of you are here to try and receive your provisional licenses so you'll be swept into this tiresome mess yourselves pretty soon. Those of you who don't have the speed—- frankly won't cut it. Which is why that's what you'll be tested on." Y/n looked behind her at the many other students, 'Is this why there's a 50% passing rate?'
The screen behind Mera soon switched into different images, catching the attention of the students. Y/n's eyes widened as she looked at the numbers on the screen, "The first hundred students to fulfill the requirements will pass today."
The students mouths were agape as they heard what Mera said, their eyes glued on the screen in utter disbelief. "One hundred out of one thousand- five hundred and forty?" The girl uttered in disbelief.
"I thought that they said that about half of us would be able to pass?" Yaoyorozu asked aloud. "This means—" Tsuyu paused, she was uttered speechless, "It means that less than one percent would be able to pass and get a license," Y/n said, finishing her friend's sentence.
"Oh man I'm getting way more nervous!" Jiro exclaimed with a shutter. "Well the world could be pretty crappy, I suppose I should say something about luck," Mera stood from his seat as he took out a ball and a device.
