Chapter 18

THURSDAY~day of the meeting/gala

6 PM.

"Everyone clear on their assignment?" Andy rubbed his head. It was the night of the EDG dinner meeting, and the team planned to stop it.

Tris was supposed to stay behind at Hq with Alpha, Messi, Pink, and Aj.

While Andy took Icy, Tessa and Janae go to the restaurant to stop the meeting.

Liam was busy at his own agency... and couldn't help for the night, so the only people in the base today were TRF.

Andy went over the plan to his team one more time before getting everyone to prepare for the dinner.

9 PM

Everything was in place.

Tessa carefully made her way through the dimly lit fancy restaurant. She stopped in front of a nicely dressed young lady, and placed an iced tea she was carrying gently on the table. Tessa pulled the notepad from her apron and smiled.

"Now Janae.." she whispered. "If anything starts going downhill and you need help... speak up on the comm." Tess subtly gestured to another waitress nearby. "Icy and I won't be far..."

The team weren't risking this mission... they were all in disguise and spread throughout the restaurant to avoid suspicion. Icy and Tessa had stolen 2 waitress uniforms, while Janae was forced into a dress by Pink, to pose as a normal customer.

Tess walked over to the kitchen, muttering into her earpiece, "EDG has a table booked in the far corner of the restaurant... Icy changed the table assignments and placed me as their waitress."

Icy's voice buzzed through the earpiece, faint enough only for Tess to hear. "You should've let me serve them-"

"No Icy." Andy cut in, "EDG knows what you and I look like..." Andy stole the guard's uniform and was currently guarding against outside... this way there'd be eyes in and out of the restaurant.

"They're here..." Andy's line went quiet, Tess rushed over to the front podium near the entrance and waited.

"Do you have a reservation?" She smiled and studied the blonde in front of her.

"Kim Williams. Private party of 4." Tess froze.

"Um.. yes Ms. Williams, follow me..." she leads Kim and her one guard (he was carrying a large black briefcase and had a gun strapped to his belt) to the private section of the restaurant.

"Anything to-"

"Do I know you?...you seem familiar.." Kim tilted her head in question and studied Tess.

"No.. afraid not-" she lied.

"Oh... well then. I'll have a Bloody Mary..." Kim ordered her to drink right when 2 men walked into the curtained off area.

It was Jacob.

And Jake was nowhere in sight... just Jay's grim-looking companion.

Their plan failed...

The companion seated himself and ordered his drink, so did Jay. Tess gave the group a fake smile and slid into the kitchen before clicking on her comm.

"That's weird..." she clicked it again before giving up entirely.

She pulled the earpiece from her ear and quickly walked to the front entrance.

"Andrew.." Tess approached him and turned to the other guard who was watching from the other side of the entrance.
