Chapter 12

"forest's clear..." Andy spoke into his comm.

"Good, were heading in the house now."

Andy made his way through the trees, trying to find his way back to the front of the house. He was a good distance from the house, where the vegetation was thick and green.

If the group was lucky, Jake would be alone in his house...

The building was slightly visible through the thicket, when Andy heard a yelp, followed by hurried footsteps.

Andy jerked around towards the sound and tripped on a rock, resulting in him stumbling forward... and knocking something- no someone over.

They both fell to the ground, right in a pile of leaves. Andy's glasses went flying, landing somewhere in the leaves around him...

The stranger was a young girl, about 15... she was light skinned and had big brown eyes, with long dark brown hair tumbling down to her waist.

She was wearing a simple loose fitted white dress flowing down to her knees.

But Andy couldn't see any of this... without his glasses he was completely blind.

Relying on his senses, he went quiet... only to hear sobbing, no doubt from the stranger. And the sound of someone digging through a bag...

"Hey! Don't cr-" Before he could finish, the girl must've found what she had been looking for, because she held up a little clear bottle in front of Andy's face-

and sprayed it.

"...WHAT THE FUCK!" Andy screamed at the burning in his eyes, he wiped his face and identified the smell.

"Is that... HAND SANITIZER!?" He blinked out some of the pain and reached around blindly for his glasses, while the girl jumped away and began scurrying away.

Barely a minute later, eyes still burning, Andy put on his glasses and ran after the girl. Catching up to her a moment later, he grabbed her arm spinning her around.

"No!... please d-don't kill me." She cried, tears streaming down her face.

"I won't-" He held her still despite her get away attempts.

"Stop tryna escape! I'm not gonna hurt YOU-!" Andy jumped, his grip on the girl failing, she again ran into the forest.

Andy looked down and swore.

The girl dropped her heavy leather shoulder bag on Andy's foot. Peeking out of the bag, was a rather old looking textbook: A Basic guide to Potions and Serums.

"Stop running away..." Sighing, Andy swung the bag over his shoulder and spoke into his comm.

"I have a little problem over here... I'll meet you guys back at Aj's." Disconnecting his communications device, he ran after the girl once again.

Running through the forest, the girl cried.

She had finally escaped the awful place she was forced to call home... only to collide face first with a stranger armed with 2 terrifying blades.

Wiping her face, she swung herself around the trunk of a large tree and covered her mouth to stifle the sobs.

A minute passed...

5 minutes....

Finally, thinking it was safe. She peeked behind the tree to see if the stranger was following her... but nothing. She calmed, and took a step away from the tree when he just appeared right in front of here.
