A a woman, roughly in her late thirties stood up upon a stage, her eyes were clouded, and had dark circles around her eyes, as if she'd been crying. "Two days ago, we lost someone who we all held very dear. Someone who was filled with compassion, and bravery. Someone who was a beacon of hope for those who had none. Avatar korra was my hero. She restored the air nation, and we promise, that her legacy will live on for generations to come." A tear slipped down her cheek, as she tried her hardest to stay composed. "Her wife, Asami Sato couldn't attend the speech today, I send her my condolences. Avatar Korra's funeral ceremony will be held tommorow. But we mustn't be too sad, it's not what Avatar Korra would want." She muttered, as she looked down at the people, all of them shocked. "Somewhere in this world, the avatar has been born again. As we mourn, we can celebrate the birth of thd new avatar, I hope you all find comfort in the fact that...Korra's spirit will live on, the avatar cycle...has begun anew!" The woman felt tears trickle down her face, as she smiled weakly.

She felt a warm hand on her shoulder. "It's okay, Jinora."

Earth. Fire. Air. Water. Only the avatar can master all 4 elements.

16 years ago, Avatar Korra died. Her sudden death was surrounded with mystery. Some say she collapsed under pressure. Other's say it was a long illness. It brought sadness to all around the globe. Her, and each avatar before her brought peace to all 4 nations time and time again.

Things had changed in the time that Avatar Korra was gone, for one, there was a new president of the united republic of nations. A man from the southern water tribe, named Liang. A kind, and warm, likeable man, who women fawned over. Technology had advanced, very slowly, due to the belief that it caused disruption to the spirit world. Though there hasn't advanced much in 40 years, people relied on bending less and less, though benders are still common, the only line of work for them was military duties. For the first time in many years, with the advancement in military technology, benders and non benders seemed to be on equal footing.

The relationship between the 4 nations had changed drastically since Avatar Korra parted from this world. Prince Wu's attempt to turn the earth kingdom into a democracy failed, which resulted in a large portion of the former earth kingdom being seperated into several colonies, under the rule of the president of the united Republic of nations, which tarnished the relationship between the Earth nation and Republic City. The relationship between the fire nation and the water tribes has become rocky. The north and south water tribes are flourishing, and are fully independent, with one of the strongest militaries out there. The fire nation has stayed largely unchanging, aside from advancements in technology. Riots have happened, strikes have been arranged, and many rumours have circulated. And a new organisation, the Black Lotus is on the rise. Only one thing is for sure. It isn't long until the drums of war are sounded. Just like the cycle of the seasons, the cycle of the avatar began anew. But where is the avatar now when the world needs them?

"It's not fair father!" Shouted an angry young girl. "Why can't I go hang out with the other kids?" She said. "Enough! Kaori! You don't have time for foolish things like that! You're too old! Continue your studies before I get angry!" Her father snarled at her.

The girl sat down, as her father left the room "It's for your own good." He said as he slammed the door behind him. She watched as she saw the other children play gleefully outside. She longed to be one of them, she'd only just turned 16, and yet on the inside, she was a child. She'd never gotten a normal childhood, being raised by the firelord. She glanced to the side, seeing her little step-sister Anzu training in the courtyard. She was a prodigy, even at the young age of fourteen, she had already mastered 32 forms of firebending. She couldn't help but feel jealous, since she herself, couldn't firebend.
