Chapter Twenty Six

"I can't believe this. The great Kim Yong Sun, still alive?" Eric said, a smirk on his face as he looked at his ex lover.

"I know you will kill me after this, so I demand that you tell me why you're doing this. Is this because of Hana?" Yong Sun said, clenching her fist as she kept a cold facade.

"Ah, is it our child or the child of your friends? Did she remind you of our child, Yongie? That was why I had the strong thought to get her." Eric said, as Yong Sun scoffed.

"And that was why you went there and staged that fake attack, making us think that your target was our friends? How nice of you to do that, Eric!" Yong Sun shouted, as Eric kept a smile on his face.

"Ah, but the child isn't the reason why I'm doing this, Yongie. Don't you think I wouldn't give her back to you that easily if she was the reason? No, you can have that beautiful child for your own." Eric said, his madness clearly showing as Yong Sun widened her eyes.

"Then... Then what?"

"But if I tell this to you, you will surely die, Yongie. Are you ready?" Eric said, a mad smirk on his lips.

"Ready as ever, Eric." Yong Sun said, more relaxed as she finally smiled at her captor.

"It is because--"

The main building shook with a savage blow, threatening to fall as Seulgi and Joohyun chuckled to themselves despite the nostalgia.

"Just like six years ago, would you look at that. Before you became a badass leader that melted my ice cold forgetful heart." Seulgi said, as Joohyun chuckled loudly.

"Then let's get out of here before you forget anything more." Joohyun said, holding her hand as they jumped out the window of the second floor, landing perfectly on the ground and running away.

["Backup already coming, Seul. Get out of there before they notice that the bride is missing because she eloped with a bear."]

"Hahaha, so funny, Umji. How would that singer of yours like your very witty jokes?" Seulgi countered back, as she heard Soyeon and Chaeyoung's laughs in the background.

["Aish, that again! I told you, I don't--"]

A van stopped in front of the two, and they smiled at Mina and Yuju, the singer, and the two boarded the van.

"Annyeonghaseyo, I am Choi Yuna, or Yuju. Pleased to meet you, eonnie!" Yuju said, cheerily even if she knew that Joohyun was a leader of the syndicate who'd enslaved her.

"Ah, Yuju. I've heard you sing some years back, you were very nice. Now, would you give me some ammunition for my gun?" Joohyun said, as the singer gave her a spare gun and ammunition, much to Seulgi's shock.

"Where are you going?" Seulgi asked, as Joohyun smiled at her.

"Finishing everything. Sinb is there, I have to help my sister." Joohyun said, as Seulgi widened her eyes.

"How... How did you know?"

"I was the one who let you in the city, dummy. Now let's go, aren't you going to help me?" Joohyun said, a determined smile on her face as Seulgi nodded, the two going out.

"We'll come too--"

Yuju was about to go out but Mina chuckled and locked her seat belt, shaking her head.

"A certain computer genius asked me to keep you by my side, and protect you." Mina said, smiling at Yuju as Seulgi and Joohyun knew what she meant.

"Aigoo, and she said she doesn't like the girl. Sowon will be amused at this." Seulgi said, as Joohyun watched her girl's eyes light up by speaking of their friends.

"You've grown really close to Moonlight's maknae, huh?" Joohyun said, as they raced towards the main building, where they heard a couple of gunshots.

"We were practically a team in the past four years, searching for everyone. I was the one who rescued that singer for her, because she watched her gigs back then, online." Seulgi said, chuckling at the girls as they made their way towards the buildings, hearing the gunshots nearing them.

"You should just stay in the van and let me fetch the others, unnie." Seulgi said, turning serious as she fired at the men who tried to stop them.

"I want to be with you in this, Seulgi. Trust me, we can do this together."

With a smile, the two marched towards the battleground, only for their smiles to disappear as they saw what was happening.

"Yong Sun unnie and Eric... together?" Seulgi said, as she hid carefully and watched the events unfolding.

"This was his plan all along. He lured us here, to rescue me, only to show everyone that he's getting his love back." Irene said, realizing the truth as she saw Yong Sun who was smiling at the crowd.

"My muse, Kim Yong Sun!" Eric said, blaring through the speakers, as the girls didn't dare to interrupt, waiting for any command.

"And now, to cement my reign in Seoul... To kill the leader of the rebellion." Eric said, as he grabbed a gun and aimed it at Yong Sun, who stiffened.

"No... Is he--"

Eric fired.

Once. Twice. Thrice.

All hitting the same target.

"No..." Seulgi said, as she and Irene stared to rush towards the center of the city.

Moonbyul fell down on her knees, as she clutched her bloody shoulder, but she was too fatally wounded to speak. The other two bullets hit her on her chest and her leg, as she raised her head up and smiled at Yong Sun.

"I... I love you." she managed to say, and fell down the ground, lifeless as chaos enamored everywhere around her.

"You promised! You promised me you wouldn't kill her and let them go free!" Yong Sun said, pushing Eric across the platform, as he dropped down the ground.

The guards were already gone; Sowon and the others had already made their move in the midst of Eric's speech and disabled the security, leaving him defenseless.

But they weren't fast enough to predict that Eric wanted to kill Moonbyul, not Yong Sun.

"You promised me, Eric!"
