Chapter 7: The Fat Lady is Annoying

Ivy P.O.V.

Oh Gods, oh Gods, oh Gods. After Hope dragged me to the Astronomy Tower and asked me if I was a Werewolf, I knew she was getting suspicious of me. Thank the Gods she's never seen my back. It's covered in scars, with the worst of them going diagonal down the center of my back. Yeah, wow, I know. That's another long story.

"I want to tell her but I know I can't. I could try to show her my demigod powers! She probably wouldn't even believe me though. She'd think it's magic. Hell, I'm not sure she can even see through the mist! Maybe I could show her what it's like to be a shade? Maybe I could control shadows?" I asked nothing in particular.

"UGH NO THAT IS AN EVEN WORSE IDEA!" I screamed at the ceiling as I fell back on my bed.

I considered getting my imparter and calling Linh, but I decided it would be too risky if my dormmates came back. After deciding against calling Lihn, I made a mental note to call her sometime soon. After another 6 minutes on my bed, I decided to do SOMETHING productive. 

I dug through my supplies and found some parchment, ink, and quills. I went and found a spot at a table in the common room and started my essay for D.A.D.A. Last year when Harry started Dumbledore's army, I thought it was a cool idea but I only went to some of the meetings as I could already cast a Patronus, and fight with a dagger. I the only spell I really need is expelliarmus. I disarm them and fight them with my dagger.

I finished my essay some hours later. I looked at the clock and saw I was 10 minutes late for dinner. When I got to the Great Hall, Hope and Xavier were already there sitting together at the Gryffindor table. Why? IDFK! I'm not sure that's even allowed considering Xavier is a Ravenclaw.

I sat down and started eating my food. I paid no attention to anyone or anything until someone started calling my name.

"Ivy, Ivy! IVY! What are you doing?"

I turned and saw it was Ginny calling my name. I looked down and saw I was basically frosting my chicken with my mashed potatoes.

"Yes, Ginny?" I called back to her.

"Just wanted to make sure everything is okay. You were covering your chicken in potatoes! Ugh."

I almost laughed at her for saying that. "Yes Ginny, everything is fine. I just zoned out for a while."

I said with a random smile. After that, I went back to eating my food. Even the chicken I accidentally covered in potatoes. I can't wait until I can go home or back to CHB. I eat meat despite being ⅓ elf, but it's not my favorite thing in the world. I rarely eat it outside of Hogwarts. I only eat it here because most things served have meat.

After dinner, I went back to the common room with the rest of my house. If I'm being honest the only thing actually I did was try to avoid Hope. I ended up sitting in a chair by the fire. I stayed there for a while until I realized it was a Friday. I immediately shot up and ran to the girl's dorms. I got a few weird looks from my fellow Gryffindors as I ran up the stairs. I dug through my trunk until I found my pathfinder. I'm not supposed to have one but my contact in the lost cities had one made for me.

When I leap to foxfire on the weekends I work on my ability with my mentor. If I get a chance afterward I hail my friends in the lost cities and we meet up to work on skills and self-defense. Linh and I started training together with a while ago. I help her with self-defense and she helps me with skill training. Last I heard she had been training with Marella and Maruca. I seriously need to hail her. I dug through my trunk again this time looking for my foxfire uniform.

"WHERE THE HELL IS IT?!" I yell into my trunk.

I kept looking only to find out I didn't pack it. I ran back down the steps and into the common room, literally running into Harry and Ron.

"Oi! Watch where you're going, Ivy! Bloody hell that hurt." Exclaimed Ron.

"Sorry, Ron! I didn't mean to run into you, Just in a bit of a rush right now, sorry!"

"It's alright. Just watch where you're going next time. And if you see Hermonie can you tell her I'm looking for her?" Harry asked.

"Sure thing. See you two later," I replied before running off.

When I reached the table where I let my ink and quills, I quickly wrote out a letter to my mom asking for my uniform and cape. After I finished I ran through the common room and out of the portrait hole, Continuing to run throughout Hogwarts until I reached the Owlery.

Jewel, I need you to do me a favor. Take this letter to my mom. I need a reply before morning if possible." I told her as I tied the note to her leg.

After she flew off I started wondering how Lady Zillah would react if I showed up in my Hogwarts robes. Some people don't like her are afraid of her, but I rather like my shade mentor. Usually, the reason people don't like her is that she gives them the creeps. I get that but she doesn't usually give me the creeps so I can't relate.

I walked back to Gryffindor Tower hoping not to get caught by Filtch or Mrs. Norris. I normally love cats but I hate Filtch and his cat with a passion! I have gotten WAY too many detentions from him for being out of bed after hours. After I turned the corner I realized I was at the entrance to Gryffindor Tower.

"Audax," I whispered to the Fat Lady. When she didn't respond I tried again.

"Audax," I said louder this time. No response. "AUDAX!" I nearly screamed this time.

She didn't budge but I could clearly see she was awake. "Godsdamit. I KNOW YOU ARE AWAKE. NOW LET ME IN THE COMMON ROOM." I yelled at her this time. That's when she finally budged and swung open.

I walked up the steps to the girl's dorms and went to my dorm. The 4 poster bed never looked so inviting. I walked forward and tripped on the stuff on the floor, belly flopping on to my bed. I forced myself to get up and change before passing out. I hoped I'd have a dreamless sleep, but boy was I wrong.
