Several hours later, the event finally ends without issue and Zen asks me to escort Reila back to her room. I hadn't been able to get near her since our dance but I didn't particularly mind. I was afraid that she would try to press me for what I was stupid enough to almost say. Now there's not really a way out of it if she asks. I doubt I'll be able to come up with something if she asks me along the way. I find Reila leaning against the wall with her shoes in her hands as she talks to Obi. She tries to take a step but stumbles and he catches her before she can fall. She's either really tired or she's drunk. I make my way over and she grins at me as she continues to hold his shirt sleeve.

"Mitsuhide!"

"Hello Miss Reila. Did you have a good time?" I ask, holding back a grin as her attempt at nodding leads to her stumbling again.

"I think she may have had a few too many." Obi snickers.

"I-I only had six... eight? A number for sure."

I shake my head and take her from Obi before testing how well she can walk while holding my arm. She stumbles a bit, but she seems to be alright if we don't go too fast.

Drunk Reila is rather funny. As we walk, she stumbles every few steps and blames it on her shoes, the shoes she's currently holding and definitely not wearing. When she isn't blaming her shoes she is cracking jokes or mumbling the words to drinking songs. How does she even know them considering her status? They're common in taverns, not a Lord's home. I chuckle as she takes my hand and tries to twirl but halfway through she stumbles again so I catch her.

"Be careful Miss, we don't need you to get hurt." I chide halfheartedly.

"You're so so sweet Mitsuhide. It's adorable." She giggles as she looks up at me. "I like it."

Reila stabilizes herself again and we continue walking. I look down and realize that she's still holding my hand. I'm not going to pull away though. I'll let myself be selfish with this little thing.

We finally reach her room and I help her inside before saying goodnight. She drops her shoes, one of them landing on her foot. My eyes widen as she lets out a quiet curse, the first word I've heard her say and it makes me laugh. It's certainly strange to see her dressed up and looking so sophisticated but saying something like that. I ask if she needs anything before I leave and she stops on her path to the vanity table and turns to me.

"Mistuhide, I have a secret." She says matter-of-factly.

"Alright?"

"It's a problem... I don't like secrets."

"Then why don't you tell someone your secret?"

She doesn't answer me but walks over and pulls me toward the bed, mumbling 'sit' over and over until I comply. She smiles at me once I'm sitting and pats my head.

"Can you keep a secret Missuhide?" She slurs my name at the end but it's adorable.

"Yes Miss."

I watch as she grabs my arm to keep her steady then looks around to make sure that we're alone before whisper yelling her secret to me.

"I like someone." My heart drops but I push it aside. I should be happy for her.

"Who is it?" I ask instead, figuring it to be Prince Raji or someone else she encountered at the dance.

"Shhhh." She gives me a pointed look. "It's a secret. I'm not uh-spposed to like that someone... It's-It's not fair..." I know how that is. I can't tell her that though.

"I'm sorry, Miss." I mumble, unsure of what to say.

"I have another problem... Can you help me fix it?"

She tugs at her necklace and whines that she can't get it off. It would probably come off if she tried the clasp rather than pulling on it, but I have her turn around and move her hair so I can undo the clasp for her. As she turns back around to get the necklace from me, she loses her balance and I catch her.

"T-Thank you." She mumbles as her face turns red.

"No problem Miss. Do you need help with anything else before I leave?"

I help her stand upright again and she holds onto my hands as she stands in front of me.

"Do you trust me?" She asks and I nod. "Close your eyes please."

I arch a brow, hoping she'll explain but she just gives me a pointed look and repeats herself. I sigh and close my eyes then hear her tell me not to peek.

"What's going on, Miss?" I ask.

"It's a secret..." I hear her whisper before something touches my lips.

It's like my whole body is filled with sparks and I open my eyes to find her kissing me. It would be everything I wanted but she's drunk. It's wrong. I gently pull away and she apologizes.

"I'm sorry Missuhide. Don't hate me." Her eyes fill with tears and it hurts my heart.

"I could never hate you Miss, but you're drunk. I don't want to take advantage of you like this and I don't want you to regret your choices later."

"So you don't hate me?" She asks hopefully as I get to my feet.

"Not even a little." I mumble as I hug her. I press a gentle kiss to the top of her head before pulling away. "Get some rest Miss, I'll see you in the morning."

"Goodnight Missuhide."
