Stolen

I sent Obi to search the grounds while I scour the castle itself for Reila. My first thought is the library since that's where she always seems to go, so I head that way. How could she be that desperate to get up and move around that she'd climb out of the window. Thankfully her room is on the second floor and there are plenty of places to hold so she likely didn't hurt herself but it's still too dangerous, especially since she's weak from being ill. I think she sometimes lives to make me worry.

I make my way through the library, making sure to check everywhere before leaving it behind. Where else could she have wanted to go? My only other thought is Zen's office unless she did actually go outside. Those were the only places she ever really hung out when she was here last time. I notice movement out of one of the windows and see Obi staring down two dark haired men, Reila held tightly to one of the men. I curse and rush out onto the grounds to help Obi. Reila looks terrified but I can tell his grip on her is too tight for her to escape from.

"Took you long enough." Obi hisses as I reach for my sword.

"What's going on?"

"It appears that The Miss was stolen from her room. What do you want with her, Tave?"

The first man smirks. "I thought that was you Obi. How quaint. You leave the good life to lounge around the castle? No matter, I've got what I came for, so I really must be off."

The other man starts to drag her away despite her struggling against him and I rush toward him as Obi goes after the first man.

I can hear Obi fighting the one he called Tave as I draw my sword but the man whips around to face me as he puts a dagger to her throat. He smirks at me as my steps falter, his milky grey eyes lit up sadistically.

"Not so fast, lap dog. If you want her to still be alive, you won't get in my way. Such a pretty young specimen, isn't she? I imagine that she would look just exquisite covered in blood. Perhaps we should just have a little taste."

"Don't you dare hurt her." I growl as she lifts her head, trying to avoid the blade on her throat.

"Ah, don't worry, it won't hurt too much, Love." He purrs in her ear as it nicks her skin.

I hear her gasp in pain as a small amount of blood trails down her throat.

"See? She looks absolutely lovely." I take a step further but he tightens his grip and moves the blade back to her throat. "I was serious. I will harm her if you try to interfere."

"If you don't let her go right now I will tear you limb from limb!" All I can focus on is the blood on her neck and how touchy this whole situation is. One wrong step and he can kill her.

"It's okay Mitsuhide. I'll be alright." Reila says as if that will somehow make me abandon her.

I want to murder this man but I am terrified that she will be hurt, so I can't do much.

Her eyes meet mine and I can see the gears turning. She's planning something that is going to likely get her killed. Please don't. The man Obi was fighting is sent skittering across the yard behind his partner, a dark blur following close behind. When Obi slips back into his old personality, he's definitely a force to be reckoned with.

"Tiren let's go!" The other man calls out, drawing his attention away from gripping the knife and holding her.

Reila closes her eyes and in a quick movement, she latches onto his hand and squeezes until a loud crack sounds then twists out of his grip, but he latches onto a handful of her hair before she can get away.

"Nice try, Love. You're not going anywhere."

He lifts her up onto his shoulder and heads off after his partner but since the dagger is gone, I can pursue him safely. I'll admit, she terrified me but she did well in her attempt.

Tiren turns with another dagger drawn as my sword comes down toward his unoccupied shoulder and blocks my attack. It's hard to fight how I'd like with Reila very close to the crossfire but I can't just risk them taking off with her. I give him credit for being able to hold his own against me like this but I will take him down. He will pay for hurting her. I smirk as Obi appears and manages to rip Reila from the man's grip. I'm not sure what happened to Tave but I'm just glad she is safe. I put more force into my attacks and the man's eyes widen as he tries to fall back.

"Who sent you?" I ask as I knock him to the ground and press the tip of my sword to his throat.

"Why should I tell you?"

"If you hand them over, I might spare your life." I push the sword a little harder until it draws blood like he'd done to her.

"We were sent by Arnian Gerron." He mumbles, eyeing the blade.

"See? Was that so hard?" I ask as I lower the sword, then plunge it into his stomach.

"I thought you were going to spare me!" He chokes out between pain-filled gasps.

"I'm a man of my word. You won't die from this." I smirk, then twist the blade before pulling it out. "I'm just making sure you suffer for putting your hands on her. I won't kill you, but what my employer decides to do with you is beyond my control. You'd better pray for mercy."

I go to raise my sword again but a hand on my forearm stops me. I turn and my glare softens as it meets Reila's concerned expression. Obi is holding her up and I can feel her still trembling.

"That's enough Mitsuhide." She whispers and I keep it trained on him but I have no further desire to harm him.

The guards are coming now anyway. If only they'd actually been helpful in the beginning when these two showed up at the castle and tried to abduct her.

"Are you alright Miss?" I ask.

"Just a scratch." She mumbles.

"Not quite." Tiren snickers as the guards haul him to his feet.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I ask as I grab a fistful of his shirt.

"You'd better hope there's an herbalist here that knows what they're doing. I'd say you have maybe five hours. Just a little insurance policy to make her come along. We have the antidote at our base. That's too bad... It's been nice knowing you, Love." He winks at her before being dragged away.
