"This recruiter has been checking my game out since Sophomore year and he says that I have major potential to be in the league. After I dropped thirty-five points and dished eleven dimes last game, I got mad college coaches on my head about me being there starting point guard my Freshman year. I'm saying in my head, I already know I'm the shit so you don't have to keep telling me, but, I ain't complaining." Jeremiah let out a cocky laugh as he continued to blabber about himself, which he has been doing since we met up at the rink.

"How exciting." I said in a dry tone.

"I know right. Me being in the NBA has always been an aspiration of mine since I was a shorty. I can vividly remember me putting a plastic bag over my ball so I could work on my dribbling. Ah, good times." He smiled at me before taking a sip of his cherry slurpee

Henry dropped me off about an hour ago, I was expecting his return in about an hour,  I wish I told him sooner because this date is not exciting me like I thought it was. I've been hyping myself up for the last two days about my upcoming date and the outcome isn't what I expected, and we've only been conversing for close to thirty minutes. His continuous talking about himself was a turn off.

My eyes searched for Karmen and Kendall on the skate floor for one of them to save me from my misery.

"Katrina? You good?" Jeremiah's brown orbs started into mine weirdly.

"Yeah. I was just looking for someone."

"Do you want another slice of pizza?" he questioned.

"No, I'm fine."

Silence engulfed us as the Glow Of Love by Change played over the speakers, I watched people with gleaming faces roll around the floor as bright, colorful lights flashed every second. I only got a chance to skate to one song before Jeremiah arrived. Did I mention he was ten minutes late?

"Am I boring you?" Jeremiah blurted out.

"No. Why you ask?" I said quickly.

"You haven't said much since I got here and when you do, it's short answers."

"No it's not." I defended.

He chuckled, "You just did it."

I sighed, "I'm sorry. I just got a few things on my mind." my fingertips tapped against the booth table.

"I got a feeling that I've been talking too much about myself." he mentioned, rubbing the back of his neck.

Ya think?

My silence confirmed his statement, he let out a huff, "Damn, I didn't even notice," he remarked awkwardly, "I tend to do that sometimes and I don't even notice, my moms always saying, boy if you shut your mouth once in a while, you'll learn something." he imitated his mother's voice.
