"Thank you Ms. Jackson, I really needed to get out of that class, me and Mr. Harris wasn't digging each other too well." I told my dean as I stood up with my new schedule in hand.
"I understand son, these teachers think they know everything but they don't," she laughs, "do you need to be escorted to your new class?"
I look down at the schedule to find the room number, "Nah, I know exactly where this is. Thanks again Ms. Jackson." I shake her hand before leaving her office and making my way to my new class.
See, I had to get one of my classes changed because my Physics teacher was buggin' me about turning in work I already submitted. I think he actually lost it and tried to make it seem like I didn't do it, so as soon as winter break was over, I switched classes. You can't play a playa.
I went to my locker to put my coat and bookbag up, as I was doing so, I heard footsteps approaching and a familiar voice calling my name. I groaned loudly trying to hurry up to not encounter the person, I was too slow cause she's now leaning against the locker beside me.
"Hi, Elijah. You miss me?" a grinning Journey asks in a gleeful tone.
Ignoring her, I close my locker walking away.
She ran beside me, "I know you see me right here Eli. Why you acting like you don't know me?"
"Didn't I tell you I was done with you? Why can't you get that, I'm trying to move on and you should too. What we did a while back was a mistake." I say to her, I was looking around to make sure no one was in the hallway.
"Oh so now you don't want to be seen with me? You afraid little miss Katrina is gonna see us and drop yo ass. You know what, she can have you, I don't want your sorry ass anyways." she fumes as I walk up the stairs, I stop at the top.
"Then why the are you still here, huh? You can't be mad at me cause you fucked up something good, Journey. The problem is you haven't forgiven yourself and it's eating you up, once you take accountability, you'll feel better." I pat her shoulder as she stood there quiet, I walked away.
I turned around to walk backwards, "By the way, you don't need to worry about me and Katrina, we good." she stood there speechless as I continued my path to class.
Knocking on the class door, the teacher came to open it. I greeted her and said I got switched to her class.
I looked around the class and spotted familiar faces, I smirked once a saw a particular one.
My new teacher, Mrs. Childs handed me a worksheet, "You can work on this today. There's a empty seat right there," she pointed, "next to Katrina. Katrina, dear, can you raise your hand?"
Katrina looked up from her work and her eyebrows rose making me chuckle, Kendall and Karmen who were all sitting together turned around and laughed. After Katrina lowly raised her hand, I made my way to the table.
"Wassup gang." I greeted dapping Kendall and Karmen up.
"When you get in this class?" Kendall asks.
I sat down, "Today, Mr. Harris was trippin' so I had to jet out his class."
"That's crazy, the four of us in the same class. The rest of the year gon' be funny as hell." Karmen laughs.
