Elijah.

December 3rd, 1987
Fixing my bow tie in the rear view mirror for the third time, my shaky hands straightened it out, smoothing down my fitted navy blue suit jacket.
I've been sitting outside of Katrina's house for five minutes and I'm still trying calm down from my nervousness. I don't know why I'm feeling this way, I think I gotta take a shit.
"Cool out Eli, you're thinking too much. It's just Katrina, it's not like we're going on a date, it's just a friend doing a friend a favor." I pepped talked myself.
Stepping out the car, I smooth out my jacket once again, checking my hair and tie in the mirror. Walking up the porch I knocked twice, I glanced over at the white swing, I smiled at the memory of us sitting there when I brought over her homework, I really missed her at school that day.
The door opened, a middle aged Italian man with glasses on his forehead stood on the other side, he must be her father.
He just stood there, I guess checking me out, "Are you Elijah?"
"Yes sir." I answered.
Opening the screen door, I stepped inside looking around the living room, "How are you this morning Mr.Lombardo?" I questioned politely.
"Fine, and yourself?"
"Great." I rocked back and forth.
"So you and my daughter are friends?"
"Yes sir, we've been friends for a while now."
He picked up a newspaper from the end table, "For how long?"
"About two months."
"Hmph, she never mentioned me to you," he placed his glasses on his face,"anyways, she'll be down in a minute, Candace is helping her with the finishing touches I assume." he went to go sit on his recliner while I stood.
He asked if I wanted to sit and I did, my foot tapped while I played with my fingers.
"Are you nervous son?"
My head shot up in his direction, "Um, no sir...why do you ask?"
"Your tapping your foot against my wood floor like a nut and playing with your hands like your shaking up with someone." he replied making me chuckle and sigh.
"I'm sorry, I just got a lot on my mind."
"Hmm, do you like Katrina?" he asked boldly making me freeze up.
"U-Um no sir, we're just friends that's all."
Before he could say anything, Candace came racing down the steps, "Come on guys she's ready!"
We both stood up walking to the foot of the steps, "I present to you the fabulous Katrina Valentina Lombardo!"
Once Katrina stepped out from the corner, my eyes light up and butterflies erupted in my stomach. She's dressed in a ruby red off the shoulder flowy dress that showed the right amount of cleav and leg, just enough to keep the mystery.
When we locked eyes, it's like everything went in slow motion, we were caught in a daze with each other, something I've never felt with anyone before.
I snapped out of my trance when I realized she was in front of me, "Hello." she greeted.
"Hi. You look fantastic." I boasted making her smile widely.
