Chapter 25: Family is Stronger

It has been a few months during the retrieving of the predacon bones, but ever since then, decepticon activities have been very quiet, making them think that the 'cons are planning for something big. Soundwave on the other hand, kept on informing you of small details about what's been happening. First they lost the Insecticon hive because of Airachnid and then she was sent to one of Cybertron's moons with the hive. Second they lost half of the army and troops due to Knockout and Starscream's failed experiment on Cylas, who became a Terrorcon because of the unfinished synthetic energon and dark energon that was injected into him and now he was killed thanks to Airachnid. You thanked him for that and told him just to continue his work.

Right now you and Optimus were on patrol, but in different sections, to that you didn't mind. Your training as Prime with Optimus had been successful so far and you began to improve in keeping your emotions in check. You returned to base seeing the bots welcomed you back from your patrol.

"I see Optimus hasn't come back yet." You said

"Not since you two left." Wheeljack said

"Did you found any decepticon activity during your patrol?" Ratchet asked

"I haven't any decepticon activity, but I did found some energon in an old mine, though they're not boxed like they were supposed to." You said, "It's best if we wait for Optimus before (you looked at Ultra Magnus who was standing alone) we head out to check." You finished

It didn't take long for Optimus to come back, though he also noticed that something is troubling him. You both approached him. He was standing near the entrance watching the other soldiers training outside.

"Ultra Magnus, something is troubling you." Optimus said

"Are you having a bit of a hard time adjusting to everything perhaps?" You said

"No ma'am, it's that....I don't think my command style is affecting the team." Ultra Magnus said, looking back outside.

"The Autobots are not just cogs and machines." Optimus said

"Things has change ever since Cybertron."

"And yet we all learn how to adapt to these circumstances, commander." You said as you placed a servo on his shoulder. "The team has grown into something greater than an army, they have also become-" you were cut off by one of the radar, saying that there's decepticon activity. "(sigh) We'll discuss this later, Ultra Magnus." You said

Later on, you all ground bridge to the coordinates to where you saw all the energon.

":That's a lot of energon:" Bumblebee said

"Yeah, but why it would just be laying here and not boxed like they usually do?" Arcee said

"If anything, I'm sure the 'cons are hiding something in that cave." You said, "It's best if we take some of the energon, just in case."

"I agree with Y/n, Ultra Magnus, Wheeljack, please scout the cave for any clue on why the energon is here." Optimus said, "The rest of us will collect the energon."

With that everyone did their work, while you went with Bulkhead and Smoketo check a bit of the cave, while Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack went deeper into the cave. You activated your screenplate for anything suspicious that could lead to any decepticon activity.

"So Y/n, how are you and Soundwave doing?" Smokescreen asked so suddenly

"We're doing quiet well. Why did you asked?" You said as you kept on scanning through your screenplate.

"Well nothing really, I mean I thought that you two would form a family by now." Smokescreen said but then covered his mouth about what he said.

"Soundwave and I both agreed the if we want to have a family, it is best to have it once the war is done and that Cybertron is restored." You explained, "And he did promised me that when the war is about to end, he will join us."
